I thought we did have undersoil heating. I know we used to have a giant cover.

Downsouth 7,794 38.4k
If it is off then they need to declare that as Blackburn fans will have started their journey already. Freezing mist cover where I live so can see many games being called off

According to Google the Riverside pitch was dug up and re-laid at some point with undersoil heating... Although it does also call the Riverside a "world class venue" so... 😁 Also found this interesting web page - White Horse Contractors did the job, which cost a little over £300k. https://www.whitehorsecontractors.co.uk/case-studies/natural-turf/middlesbrough-football-club-stadium-pitch-construction/ The only thing that will cause the match to be called off is poor visibility (unless the heating is broken). Downsouth 7,794 38.4k
A small segment in today's papers indicating that Carrick likes the cup and clearly wants to progress, recalled the Brighton and Aston Villa results at The Riverside and mentioned how they have learnt from that! Don't know if that has any value on today's game to be honest but I get the feeling he wants to progress beyond the 3rd round, trouble is we are playing Blackburn who seem to be our nemesis at The Riverside
TeaCider24 16,744 21.9k
I didn't realise just how much that cup run last season added to our revenue, so I've changed my mind and want us to win and get a big club at home for the financial boost.
SouthernSmoggie 5,017 6.8k
Don't really get frozen pitches at this level much, do we...? Games usually get called off more for fan safety and travel. I know some will strongly disagree, but I'd put a full reserve side out with U23s where needed. Can't afford any more injuries.

Changed my mind again actually, give us a big team away from home because I'm on a stag do during the 4th round.
Downsouth 7,794 38.4k
MFC will not allow me to pay for a match day pass only those with seasonal passes allowed to listen to the commentary which I find baffling. Going to have to rely on @AnglianRed to provide a decent feed for the game which is touch and go as I might be 6 hours or so behind!

Tees can do Boro on that I think l.
Smogzilla 8,888 6.8k
Just to remind everyone, no replays anymore. So extra time/ penalties are possible.

There'll be a dodgy stream somewhere as it's selected for international broadcast.

Usually liveonsat.com has a list of fixtures with channels and Boro are not on any.
