I would be buzzing if we brought a new coach in before the Sheff Utd fixture, think it would give me a slight bit of hope that we could actually finish above my predicted 8t/9th placing, even Rooney would be a relief 😳

Good grief! You're normally one of the more sane people on here! 😲😬

My biggest takeaway was that I didn’t think Sunderland looked like anything particularly special, they’re just really well drilled. Compact, everyone knows the press triggers and they press as a unit.

It’s the basics, but it was night and day compared to us. I genuinely think we might have the worst press in the league. It always seems to be just one player pressing on their own and the one time we got it right and pressed in numbers we ended up scoring.

"Well coached" you might say

I’ve said it before and i shall say it again, Edmundson is a poor centre back, and no where near the level we need. He will cost us lots of goals, and indeed already has, and playing for a manager who wants his side to play from the back at every opportunity i find it baffling that we would sign a defender who can’t pass a ball to save his life.

Dont know why I decided to do this but ive just watched the full game back. It's crazy how much of a different game you see when you're not watching it full of emotion.

After the game last night I was really annoyed and persuaded myself that we were so poor and most players had a stinker. One of the main things that stood out was how well Morris looked at times again breaking up the play, He had the better of Bellingham all game nicking it off him on a number of occasions. Cant believe he got a 4 by Craig johns and azaz got a 5!

Although the mistakes leading to goals are ridiculous I cant believe how wide-open we are when we lose the ball in there half. its obvious why most teams dont press us high and they wait until were in there half to do it. Surely the coaching staff can see this if half the fan base see it as well.

We diddn't actually play that bad, had plenty of chances but none of this matters if we continue to set up this way imo.

I think Morris got a 4 as he should have been sent off and he gave the ball away in dangerous areas

Also, if we're wide open whenever we lose the ball then presumably that's at least partly down to him as I assume his role is to stop that or then again maybe it isn't.

I don’t think he’d be half as bad if he played on the right hand side. Every time he gets the ball he goes onto his left foot and has to inaccurately try pass/hoof it up to Burgzorg with his weak foot. I have no idea why RVB wasn’t on the left hand side and even more confused as to why Fry wasn’t starting. We literally just sold a left footed CB, who not only adds more balance, but is actually a better defender then George. Then again we could have just replaced Clarke in the window, but no, that would be too sensible.

Morris seems to have a bit of a license to push forward which I don’t really like tbh. It’s as if once we get into the opposition half any of our players can go where ever they want. It’s great in theory but in practice we often lose the ball easily and half the team is out of position.
