We are 5 points away with 10 games left, is that really no point? A competent coach could possibly scrape us in with a good run of form, the teams around us are not great.

Good point tbf.

There's no point in sacking Carrick now.

There are only 10 games left, the squad is broken and full of players that won't be here next season, the gap to the play-offs has grown.

Any new manager isn't going to gain much from coming in early now.

Just let Carrick do his best till the end of the season, then part ways unless there's a surprising upturn in form at the end that sees us make the play-offs.

Let him see the season out because it's over anyway. Then either he will do the decent thing and walk or sack him.

PREDICTABLE, BORING, SLOW, PONDEROUS & on top of al that we have poor management

Suppose it makes sense leaving the management team to see fully what an awful mess they've made of the squad

Wow...absolutely awful.

I feel like Boro owe me 90 minutes of my life back.

Turgid first half...though Swansea were barely any better. Hosts edged it thanks to the defining moment of the game. Boro losing possession easily in their own half, Swans running through us and allowing Emo to unleash a cracking shot.

Slightly better in the second half...but thats from a very low bar set in the first half. Huffed and puffed but mostly ineffectual. It always seemed very easy for Swansea to break up our attacks before we could genuinely threaten their goal. Subs didn't really help - even though Carrick clearly recognised all was not well, hauling off Giles & Forss at half time!

So much for any hopes of a revival after our back to back wins. Although you can never take any opposition for granted, this was a highly winnable game on paper and an excellent chance for 3 wins on the bounce. The fact Swansea only managed 1 goal, despite Boro's cobbled-together defence and creating numerous chances, shows their lack of quality up front. The only thing that stopped this being an embarrassing score-line.

Match stats are pretty damning:

Boro had 60% possession and managed 9 shots at goal...but only 1 on target over the entire match! Simply not good enough!

While Swansea with their 40% possession managed 13 shots at goal, with 4 on target.

Swansea also had 22 touches inside our penalty area, while Boro manged just 12 inside theirs.

Seems clear to me that Boro will not progress under Carrick, or the current coaching staff. We may even need a new director of football, given how underwhelming our recruitment has been overall (a few good signings, but more bad ones).

Gibson needs to make a decision soon about the club's future and how serious he is at seeing Boro get into the PL. Because there is no chance in hell it will happen with the current set-up.

They'd not be working with half the squad next season, so it's just an unnecessary risk of tainting them with the stink of this failure of a season.

Just let Carrick do his best till the end of the season, then part ways unless there's a surprising upturn in form at the end that sees us make the play-offs.

there is as if hes sacked i'll renew my 4 season tickets. if hes not i wont. i bet there is a load of people doing the same to. all the regulars round me are sick of him.

By the end of the month we may well be 5th/6th 🙌

I wanted him out after the Norwich game but I did actually have false hope with our two wins, even thinking yes we've failed time & time again this season against awful teams, that we may have finally turned the corner (even though I must have said that a dozen times this season) but lets not hide from the fact, we have been an awful side this season more often than a good team

Not being funny, but whether you renew or not has no relevance to me on changing manager.

I'd sooner a new manager has a fresh start from pre-season onwards, I don't think there's enough time left to bring somebody in and save this season, unless they already had somebody lined up and ready to take over.

What and allow us to watch a continual spiral down the table, we are not going to be relegated but what an awful thing to finish below 12th spot

well you said there was no point sacking carrick before the end of the season. and i gave you a reason to sack him now. if hes sacked now we will sell more season tickets. nothing to so with your personnel option.
