Best half from Boro since...our purple patch (which seems like a lifetime ago now).

Played some beautiful football in the first 15-20 minutes. Scored 2 brilliant goals and could / should have had at least 1 more when Nacho was handed a chance on a plate.

Think Boro's energy levels dropped after that and Blackburn had more possession in our half, although in a very Boro-esque way never looked all that threatening. Most Travers had to do was collect some fairly comfortable crosses.

Really hope Borges going off was more precautionary than anything. Would be terrible to have his season end just as he was really starting to shine.

 

Anyway, as well all know a 2-0 lead is not a safe one with Boro. Need to see similar urgency second half and get at least 1 more goal to make the game safe. Blackburn will probably get a rocket at half time so we need to be on our guard.

2nd half vs Oxford was far better than that half 

Awesome to see us start a game fast. Collector's item under Carrick!

We got to twenty minutes or so looked at the score line and went back into our shell,why, we were carving them to pieces at the back. Once we tried to keep possession and pass it around again Blackburns physicality started to tell. I have a nasty feeling this game isn’t over yet and if it is going to be a battle then we are not equipped for it

Disagree. It was better than the first half of that game...but you'd struggle to do worse! 😆

IMO our goals tonight were better worked - even if Iling Jrs took a lucky deflection. I think our play in that period was just more composed & purposeful.

Against Oxford its like we managed to score despite being generally crap.

Need to put our foot on the pedal from the off in the second half. They wre there to be dominated. Get the Venkys out chants louder and more frequently!

Think it is fair to say with a bit more composure we could be 4 nil up by npw
