Probably the same motionless, boring, unmotivated Boro team with the same mixture of injured & unmotivated bench. I would rather have Hunt, injured I know & can't take any part in the game, to be among the group, than an injured Lenihen, who can take no part

Please get this season out of the way & rid us of this awful management team, sadly I can still see them here next season

I'm more excited to see the post saying he's gone than I was for this game.

Was he watching him just-a walking down the street?

  • This club/management/team has sucked all hope out of me. I have no faith in them whatsoever.

1st November 1924  - Coventry 2 Boro 2  - The 1st time we faced Coventry

This will be the 28th fixture Boro have played at Coventry with the following record

Won - 6

Drew - 7

Lost - 14

Goals scored - 27

Goals against -  42

It seems crazy but if Boro win and other results go their way, they'll be in the play-offs and Carrick will, with some self-justification, say that he has done a decent job by getting that far? And keep his job!

Or, more likely, they won't make play-offs and he is out.

Or, in the Land of Make Believe, they make and win play-offs! And he keeps his job (and a big bonus?!)

I need a lie down.

Only thing that makes me hesitant about that 2nd scenario is that after pulis failed to make the play offs (and had us playing similarly guff football), Gibson tried to keep him. Failure to get the play offs isn't a red line for him so it'll be entirely based on his own feelings of what he thinks Carrick can do next season rather than how we finish this one

I have more than a few criticisms of Carrick. But he would probably argue he was let down in January and has (once again) been hard done by with injuries. He's got the best out of players like Akpom, Rogers, and Lath who have gone on to be quite quickly sold. I'm not saying I personally fully agree, just that I think that's what he would say.

Would we be 4-6 points better off with Lath, Doak, and McGree available for the last 15 games? I reckon so. The squad as it stands is genuinely bad, I was looking at the Norwich team and thinking it's probably better than ours on paper in all honesty.

Can definitely see a world where he's still here next season.

If he is, I won't be.

All the games KO at 12.30 to ensure no advantage

Yeah I thought they were all three o'clock despite the fact it would have meant none could be on TV! Force of habit I think

Sometimes I wonder how Gibbo actually made a successful transport business. His head seems to be full of Dinky Toys and Heinz Tomato Sauce at times. (As in sacking Southgate when Boro were 4th, a point behind the leaders!)

That’s the thing, we can all see pretty big faults with the starting 11 and bench players.

Is RB really that great? Only 2 top 6 level CMs for a whole season, No proper #10 which is vital for Carricks system, Dieng had a nightmare of a season, Burgzorg and Forrs the only real ‘options’ to switch up our attack. McGree can’t seem to function, Doak got a bad Injury, Lath sold, you could argue that’s 3/4 of a first choice front out the window.

BUT Then you have the other side, did we not bring in an extra cm because Carrick liked Barlaser/wanted to give Howson another year?

Is Carrick totally blameless in the Lath fiasco given he apparently opted for Iheanacho himself? Same story at the back, Carrick apparently wanted Edmundson and decided we didn’t need any more CBs.

So yes Carrick hasn’t had a great squad to work with this season for various reasons, but was that totally out of his hands or did he play a big part in that?

Reckon if we win we’ll end up in the playoffs. Simply can’t see that happening though. This club is currently incapable of turning up when the pressure is on.
