I’d have rather have kept Carrick but ah well

Lets see who we sign and hopefully we have a squad that’ll give him every chance

I think he’ll do alright and we’ll surely be conceding less

Wingbacks 😭

2 strikers or will it be a 343 cos of Whittaker? Did he play two 10’s at Luton or were they more out and out wingers? Wondering how it’ll concern Azaz

The echo said many times the plan wasn’t to sack carrick so I don’t think it’s cus of last season, I will say Edwards seems adaptable and if we get a good assistant I don’t see why we can’t stick to a 4 back

Edwards clear favourite for Middlesbrough

Rob Edwards is the clear favourite for the Middlesbrough job - and a managerial return.

The former Watford and Luton boss has come through an interview stage to emerge as the ideal candidate.

Edwards was first tipped for the post here a few weeks ago because of his strong links with director of football Kieran Scott.

Owner Steve Gibson has now joined his fan club and the young manager will take over from Michael Carrick barring any late snags.

Edwards was put on gardening leave when he left Luton so that financial side needs to be sorted.

Will hold judgement on edwards till I start seeing the players we sign. If we start buying big lumps to fit a Luton style then I'll be mightily *** off. If we sign some decent, tidy, technical footballers (who are also physically competent) then I'll start getting a bit excited again.

I don't really know what kind of manager he is, because he was put into a position where he had to adapt to the players he did. Luton didn't have the resources to go out and shift his squad over night, so he made do with what he had. I hope.

I dont like the lack of imagination, but am very used to it with this team.

He has shown tactical flexibility and has shown different styles of play.

Luton fans have said he actually got more attacking in the premier league and they could have stayed up doing it, so don't lose hope yet.

I'm with you though, the signings this summer are even more important now!
