Fitness is a massive issue with him.  He's been here for two seasons and he's played less than 800 mins of football.  Bloody nightmare for the lad 😟

Yeah massive shame for the lad because I'm his early cameo's he looked like he definitely had something about him

Maybe he'll be able to come back from it but two years is a long time to hardly play any football, and it's not like it was just the one injury either.

I can’t imagine we’ll be playing with wingbacks when we don’t have any. Isn’t the whole point not to rip up the squad and style with a change of manager?

Just empty words from the club that same as the ‘same transfer targets’ garbage

I’ve noticed when Edwards has a full summer before a championship season he starts off having the ball more than the other team…and it doesn’t really work

54% odd at Watford and less than 1 xG and several games in the first 7/8 at Luton last season with similar possession stats before reverting to his mid-late 40s ball when it didn’t work

I think that’s how Rob wants to play but the results don’t come with it unlike when he ‘presses as opposed to playing’

I can see us doing the same, trying to play rather than copy what worked at Luton, but Robs fresh off a sacking and Scott’s neck is on the line…if we try play and it doesn’t work I guarantee Rob will want us to emulate Luton and Scott will compromise in Jan to save his skin getting him presumably the more physical robust players that he’s had the most success with

Basically if we don’t start well (Christmas) I predict it’ll all be out the window in favour of results for self preservation which is the thing that worries me most about the appointment

Wingbacks works when you have world class players. We don’t. It’s going to be horrible to watch.

You are talking like there's only one way to use wingbacks. Theres as many 3atb formations as there are 4atb formations, and each formation can be used a myriad of ways.

Let's not write off wing backs entirely just because some people play horrible football using wingbacks

He’s not going to copy Luton’s style as it wasn’t his system

He left in January, let's not be dramatic

His ppg over 46 games has them finishing  24th mind

Hopefully it’ll work in our favour having Edwards and Watling desperate to leave no stone unturned in succeeding with us after their recent failures

I think that’s a fair enough concern and one I’d not thought about really. Maybe I’m just naive and was sick to death of Carrick ball, but I’m hoping he’s learnt from his all of his roles so far and can build on the fair amount of experience he has and will hit the ground running with a style and approach that will suit the squad he has.

It’s the hope that kills you (but it’s all we have!).
