Tom 3,528 8.9k
I've not seen so many wet blankets since the last time I washed my sheets. People are getting themselves really worked up over - A formation that we might not even play - The fact that we haven't announced the appointment of a manager (which doesn't make any difference at all as long as the club and he know) - Some stuff people said a few years ago that hasn't exactly happened as they said (because humans can't predict the future) I know it's hot, but maybe just chill out a bit? If you're getting this angry about football, maybe take a step back and examine what's really going on 😂 21

Uncle-Festa 478 295
@Skinemrippers we were after a RB anyway and early signs are it was always going to be an attacking RB given names we been linked with so far. So whoever that person is will be the RWB. We need a LWB but needing one player to adjust to a new managers formation. I know you did not say it but some are suggesting we are ripping up a plan. We are not, we need one player. We always wanted a CB to replace Clarke this summer. Always wanted a CF and a CM. There might no longer be a need for wide centre forward but that is one adjustment. Uncle-Festa 478 295
Brynn VDB Fry LCB Morris RWB Hackney Azaz LWB Conway CF That is typically how Edwards sets up - 3.1.4.2. We got personnel for it already and our weakness that we were planning on addressing anyway will further solve the other spots. Only new addition to shopping list is a LWB. If anyone sold from above line up they would need replacing regardless of who manager was so we all good.

If that's true I don't think he was interested in it other than leverage for better deal elsewhere and back up plan just in case. As no one expects to turn down our job in Jan and still get it in June, 99% of the time that job is gone unless its Watford or hull and they probs sacked the January manager lol

Or they were lining someone up before they decided to sack wilder , has to be to be that fast he comes in after sack. Mad if they bin him and then start the process and pick someone that fast. He's probs been in the owners ear ever since wilder lost the plot and their form crashed

Isn’t the whole point not to rip up the squad and style with a change of manager? If we play with them I imagine we will buy some. Its hardly that much more to rebuild given we need lb and rb anyways. Sure we just bought whitiker but he don't have to be used on the wing It will have already been discussed so if he going to play then we know about it and looking surely. I'm sure we are a bit flexible with a different manager , otherwise does that mean every manager has to play like Carrick for ever now
Uncle-Festa 478 295
Think people taken the whole smooth transition from one manager to another a bit literally. Each manager will be slightly different from one he replacing so slight tinkering will need to occur. no point sacking one just to get a carbon copy version of one you got rid of. It always come across to me that he saw us way better than everyone else outside of then teams, and against most of the rest of the league he played his same way most the time and let everyone else do the same to us, when all these other inconsistent teams still need that respect unless ur one of the over powered teams at the top I think it's asking for trouble to just play your way and hope it works, bit complacent, especially when we were struggling with low blocks all the time

I also think it’s more playing style that brings the continuity than formation, monk to Pulis being the prime example. So each manager will like and want to use the previous managers players.
