Why would he need to put out a statement if he was sacked? 😂

Presumably to thank the fans who supported him for the last few years.

Personally it doesn't bother me either way, but I imagine some fans will feel they've put a lot of time and money into supporting him and his team, for him to not even give a quick message showing his appreciation.

Most fans turned on him by the end of it, he doesn’t owe us anything

But managers dont really do that. He's going to feel stung by the club and wont have many kind things to say, so why say anything at all. Like I've said, unless a manager is leaving of his own free will, can you name a single one who put out a statement of thanks?

CAN SOMEONE JUST PUT A BLOODY STATEMENT OUT?  IT CAN BE ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL.  WE JUST NEED STATEMENTS!

Preferably not a statement about smashing the league.

Maybe the unmanned candidate has got it but they haven’t announced it because it’s unnamed.

You're right, I suppose that's more of a player thing. Like I say, it doesn't bother me personally, but I guess that fans are used to seeing or hearing some kind of appreciation. I'm sure we'll hear from Carrick when he pops up on MNF or something.
