It would be hilarious if the club just didn't announce it at all and he just rocked up to the first friendly like everything is normal

Holy ***. We're like the Hotel California. That's why so many former players keep coming back. 🤯

Jesus Christ wish I hadn’t said anything now! It was literally just a thought as I was reading through the posts.

I hadn’t seen anything so was wondering. As he seemed to be a classy guy,I assumed he would put some kind of thanks for the support sorry it didn’t work out as I’d hoped kind of post.

People on here seem so quick to jump on posters I dont really see the need

The question was probably fine. But then to suggest he lacked class gave it a different edge.

I still think it's a bad appointment and will end in tears, I'm just bored of it not being announced.

Same he’s done now let’s just get on with it and close this thread

Edwards contract has been sorted for almost a week, the delay is agreeing personal terms with the backroom staff. It was the same when we appointed Carrick, it dragged on for ages, his deal was done, but it took another week to finalise Woodgate’s contract. You’d be surprised how little we pay the coaching staff and will haggle over pennies. Carrick even offered to take a cut from his own salary to top up Woodgate’s to get the deal finally sorted (the club didn’t take him up on it btw).

Plus if you were coaching staff your agent would probs try to play hard as most will think they are nailed on choices and club have to bend in the end

It's a reference to the novel 1984, surely.
