GrimsbyBoro 2,390 3k
The CB signed initially on loan and then recalled by his club before we made a move for him on a permanent deal. But how do you rate his signing.
TeaCider24 18,216 23.3k
4. He was fine as a back up option. Not good enough to be a regular starter and we bizarrely sold a better player and paid money for him with only 6 months left on his contract. As soon as Ipswich recalled him, we should have said see you later.
Changing Times 15,937 23k
I've given him a 4/10 but could easily have been a 3/10. I just didn't and don't see the point in the signing.
smogsterking the Inspirati 3,351 8.6k
Pretty much what Teacider said. Im probably more bitter about the farce around the January saga. I felt Clarke was better but we decided to sell him, not replace him and then Edmundson got injured. I do think the big issue was we tried to make him play football rather than be the no nonsense player at the back that didnt suit his game. wilsoncgp 10,100 19.9k
I thought he was fine for a fair bit of time. I gave it a 5. I think he still has something to offer.
Marvanelli 1,222 889
3/10 and I think I'm being generous. He's not good enough and has never been good enough. We should never have signed him in January and even if he was available now, on a free, I wouldn't sign him. Matt Clarke wasn't good enough neither and yet he was much better...so to sell Clarke and replace him with Edmundson was crazy....but last January's transfer business was one of the worst I've ever seen us do and Edmundson was part of it. shikaka 89 134
Gave him a 5, he had plenty of good games earlier in the season. Morris injury didn’t help him because it really exposed his inability to play out from the back when there wasn’t the easy short pass for him
Bruce 3,087 2.4k
Decent start. Probably suffers in fan opinion from the weird situation where we ended up panic buying him in January to enable Clarke to leave. Not exactly his fault. Like most everyone, his form nose-dived in the second half of the season. If we're moving to 3 at the back, he's an ok 5th-choice centre-back to come in as a no-nonsense stopper when needed. Seems like a decent, no-nonsense character to have around the team. Generally a no-nonsense kinda vibe.
Erimus74 5,340 5.5k
3 for me too sorry He started off well in his loan period then dropped off. When he went back I was more than happy A - We were saving money B - The option to buy had gone. Both Edmundson & Giles, two players I 100% didn't want us to sign

Tom 3,445 8.9k
5. Pretty crap really, but I don't think he was much worse than a lot of our other defenders who've been given a much easier ride by fans. Poor, but nowhere near as poor as some people have said on social media, where they were acting like he's not much better than getting a fan out of the stands.
Ruathain 109 60
This is just my opinion and I'm not expert. But I think he would be a decent Championship defender if his role was kept simple as a no nonsense centre back, he isn't technical enough to play how Carrick wanted him to. Centre of a back 3 with two slightly more mobile defenders alongside him I think he would be A good player for us. The way Carrick wanted to play the centre backs played somewhere between a ball playing defender and half backs.

But then AFAIK he wasn't able to break into Ipswichs back line either at league 1 or championship level so this makes me doubt his ability to be a consistent performer at this level along with the poor performances we seen last season. This isn't the first season he's struggled.
