Quite a few.

TV Shows - Smoggie Queens, Auf Wiedersehen Pet (the series where they sell the Transporter Bridge), Steel River Blues was set in Boro (but largely filmed in Geordieland with Geordie actors), the most recent series of Inside The Force followed Cleveland Police, and a lot of the Boro based series of Police Interceptors was filmed in Middlesbrough, too. Some scenes of Vera have been filmed in Middlesbrough.

As far as movies go, there is only one film I'm aware of that was not only set in Middlesbrough but also partly filmed here too, and that's The Tournament (starring Robert Carlyle and bizarrely, Ving Rhames!)

Dame Maggie Smith referred to having had to stay in Middlesbrough overnight in her Downton Abbey role!

Loads of that ITV drama about John Darwin, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, was filmed in Boro.
