We have Brynn, Dieng (coming back from long-term injury), McLaughlin (not played a minute for us and only joined a fortnight ago)...and who's the fourth?

Glover

To be fair, they hadn't had a penalty in three days so were due one.

Lads, I really want everything to go your way at the weekend. Odds are, it probably won't, but trust me, if you are going to go up, as I hope you will, the play offs are the way to do it. In my 60's a

  • Fundamentally, it's in our hands. If we can keep up to 2 points per game until the end of the season, we end up on 90 points. If that doesn't get us into the top 2 then all we can do is hold up our ha

In fairness, he's easily forgotten!

I don't think we can necessarily rely on Dieng given (a) his injury and (b) the rumours he wasn't happy here last season, which could be exacerbated now he's not our default #1. McLaughlin is a complete unknown, and Brynn seems to have shoulder issues which could flare up at any time. It's not a crisis, but I think we'd be taking a risk to go all season reliant on those three, unless McLaughlin turns out to be really good for us.

Ive just looked at the inside matchday vid on the MFC site and I can see my mistake, there was a blonde haired keeper warming up, it was Owen Foster and an easy mistake to make from where my seat was.

Don't say it like that as though summer is a distant memory. I refuse to accept that it is completely finished. There are at least 3 more balmy days to look forward to I'm sure.

"He left during the recent transfer window" is much less painful.

The Mystery keeper.

McLaughlin has played over 450 games in his career, in England and Scotland. Granted only a relatively small portion of them at Championship level, but nonetheless, just because you haven't heard of him doesn't make him a complete unknown.

I think it was clear Dieng and Carrick fell out. However, it’s a totally new era with Edwards. Presumably Dieng has no issue with him currently. As he is only coming back from injury, I think Edwards can tell him he has to win shirt back and the better he trains (and plays if necessary) the more likely he is to get back to first choice, or put himself in shop window if he does want to move on. Issue currently is how near full match fitness he is.

No, I appreciate he's had a strong career, but he's a complete unknown at our club, among our defenders, in our formation, etc. He could do well, or he might bomb. We have nothing to judge him on at our club, since he's a new signing, and AFAIK Edwards hasn't worked with him before, either.

It depends if Dieng only fell out with Carrick (or one of his coaches) specifically, or if it involved other players who might still be here, the club as a whole, Kieran Scott, etc. Under Carrick, very little was ever made public, so while it might have suited the manager to say one thing (or nothing), the truth could be quite different.

I hope Dieng has made up with the club because on his day he's a strong Championship keeper, but it's hard to know if he still wants away or if he's happy to dig in and fight for the Boro jersey.

Sheff UTD have appointment Chris Wilder

I think I already told you that guys 👍

They're in a similar position to ours when Carrick was appointed, catchup all season. However, you wouldn't bet against them making the play-offs being 9 points adrift of 6th.
