I think that no. 9 position requires the most mobility in terms of pressing personally. I think that's why Strelec has struggled. He's just not used to it.

Harry Kane is hardly speedy or ultra mobile but knows how to score goals. In my view a really good number 9 has the uncanny Knack of being in the right place at the right time. As long as Strelec scores in excess of 15 goals I would be satisfied. Edwards no doubt is assessing his players all the time and will hopefully find how to get the best out of him

All this overthinking about this number and that number is pointless.

No way in hell would I be dropping Conway. Not for anyone.

What he does for us, no one else in the team can do, as effective.

His pressing, harassing of defenders, and being a full on nuisance is incredible to watch. Every time I watch him, he looks like a school kid in a play ground who's just been unleashed after consuming 2 bags of haribo's.

I love him.

Strelec being in the team shouldn't be at the expense of Conway...it should be Conway + Strelec, or Conway without Strelec. Not Strelec without Conway.

We would lose far too much, at this moment in time.

The number represents the position they're asked to play. I think Strelec is better suited to playing a little deeper in the 10 position. I don't think that's pointless its just an observation. Akpom played a similar role/position for us and scored 29 goals.

A lot of his highlights showed this too, drop deep and linking up play, he's never been a player that presses from the front either.

 Conway or Sene

Strelic Nypan behind

I'd switch Conway and Strelec round. Have Conway play as the 9.

I’m surprised we haven’t tried that in game (unless I just haven’t noticed), seems like a quick easy switch to make even just to see how it works.

Conway has played just about every minute hasn't he ?

You have to manage his minutes with 3 games in a week guys or you are asking for an injury with the amount of running he does...

Good point about burnout, but he can have a well-earned breather when we're through this current tricky run of matches. I don't think we'll need him as much when we're playing the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Wrexham, as opposed to the teams up at the top.

Still crying out for a 433 imo only issue is it would mean dropping Ayling which we can’t do.

……………..Nypan

…Hansen…………..Conway

…………….Strelec

strelec could be tried as a kind of false 9 with Conway running in behind and I think Hansen has earned a start.

Not his biggest fan but Edmundson does not deserve to be dropped for tomorrow. Put in a good shift on Saturday and had a steady old game.

I see your point - but if you are ruthless (and you need to be to get out of championship), you play your best team. Take into account knocks and so on, but Fry is better than Edmundson, full stop. Ayling and Jones have been excellent most games.  On that basis, if Fry is totally fit, then he needs to be in side and Edmundson is one to give way. Dress it up as rotating defence, if you want, though on that basis, it would be Ayling or Jones neither of whom have had a rest yet, who would give way.

Of course it could be that he is “fit”, but they want him to get part of a game in first, then fine -keep the existing 3 for this match and bring Fry on as a sub, if possible.

I think Fry will be on the bench tomorrow. Jones? Like him but he had arguably his worst game on Saturday. So I reiterate, hard on Edmundson if he loses his place.
