I watched the press conference and I swear he said Alfie went for a hernia op, I was only half listening to the bit before tho so I could be wrong. I can assist here my friend as Alfie is obviously Alfie Jones but Alpha is what Kante likes to be called. Edwards said earlier in season it was confusing for exact reason it has confused you confusion. 1

edinboro 1,832 2.6k
Edwards was asked about Kante and he explained the hernia. The questioner asked about Kante and Edwards answered about Alpha.

Would have been my team minus I would have had Strelec for Whittaker. Wonder how we line up in attack 1. 3.5.1.1 with Whittaker off Conway 2. 3.4.2.1 with Hackney and Whittaker in the no.10 roles 3. 3.5.2 with Whittaker up top.

Yea not sure how I feel about Whittaker as one of the strikers essentially, hope he can deliver and I hope the midfield and wing backs get up and support

Its odd as that Whittaker inclusion makes line up sound too defensive but only change I would have made was Strelec for him so my preferred line up hardly makes us very attack minded. Clearly playing on counter and Whittaker might be the outlet to get ball from defence and midfield through to Conway. Rather he plays alongside Conway so we ask question of Watfords 3 CBs.
Neverbefore 17,072 30.8k
Not sure about us trying to fix our attacking woes by dropping an attacker and playing a midfielder like.

Not convinced by Conway playing the role up front though because I think it needs a real dominating presence up front. Also requires Whittaker to run himself into the ground. I think 3 in midfield is the way to go though.
DevKWat 3,426 3.4k
We were so poor in attack using a back three, it’s not going to suddenly change now. We still have two fullbacks trying to fill specialist wing back positions. We beat pre-season favourites Ipswich with a back 4, if you can beat them you shouldn’t really be afraid of anyone else. Keep the back 4, play your best 3 midfielders, play your best 3 forward players. It’s quite simple.

Dan1234 1,348 3.2k
If that's the team then that is a dreadfully negative lineup. 3 at the back with a defensive fullback playing wingback, 2 DM's and only 1 striker? Urgh....
