See I just don’t get this. Why would you be sticking with Strelec when he’s shown absolutely nothing in a Boro shirt. He’s been no better than Iheanacho (that’s not a joke). Infact, he actually reminds me of him a lot in terms of the the way they play.

Conway has to start because he understands the basic requirements of championship football and can control a football. Hes not perfect, but he’s shown already this season that when he’s dropped we are (more) useless up top.

I mean the fact is the club have spent 7 million or so on him that’s why he needs sticking with. It’s also presumably why Whittaker keeps getting starts. It obviously can’t go on forever, but he’s only be here a little over two months and has been on international duty twice in that time. It will take time for him to adapt to the league after coming from such a poor league

I’ve seen enough to think he’s going to flop at this level. Technically appalling and doesn’t have any physical attributes to counter that lack of technical ability.

That’s my opinion. I’ll hold my hands up if I’m wrong. I’ll be very surprised if I am.

I don’t think he’s technically appalling at all I think he’s shown quite a few moments in most appearances that show he’s technically very good? First minute tonight a lovely flick (I cant remember who to) and then abit later a ball forward to him which he should lose and had a brilliant touch past their defender and good pass into burgzorg, he’s done similar things to that in most games too saw 2 times he’s megged defenders in other games and got past them and a few good runs from deep

Another thing about Strelec he’s meant to be a really good channel runner and a lot of his goals come from balls played through to him down the channels especially down the right cutting in on to his left foot yet I don’t ever really remember us using that once? Always seems to be played into his feet around the edge of the box

Think he’s been very poor but not down to his technical ability lol poor system going forward and he is poor physically

It’s clearly a confidence issue with him, he’s just playing like a wet flannel, once he adapts he will look transformed. Maybe there’s a bit of culture shock going on, he’s probably questioning his own ability aswell since he commented about how he doesn’t want a repeat of his move to Italy, he will feel like it’s happening again.

The one thing that stands out is he always seems to arrive onto or try’s to move the ball half a second too late, he’s just struggling to keep up with the pace of the game.

He hasn’t been good and some of the things I’ve seen him do make you cringe a bit. But other times you see him more in the flow for a second or 2 and you see the quality.

I agree they’ve been pretty poor but why is Conway not treated the same as Sene and Strelec. He plays far more than they do but has equally struggled. Yet, very few question him and seem to just accept he’s no.1

conway missed 4 really good chances in one game vs sheff wed, tonight he was through one v one and fluffed it. hes been shocking infront of goal this season. strelec has created way more than conway to. trelec is clearly a better player imo. just needs to ind his feet in the champo. big change in tempo for him to adjust to.

our main trouble is poor finishing when we get good chances and missing the chances to create far more by plodding our way up the pitch.

leicester have been quite dominant in possession this season but we were imo clearly better than them. if we can sort our attack straticy out we will be rolling over teams mot weeks like cov are doing.

brum this weekend, they will come here and try and dominate. i think they will be set up nice for us to open them up. think we'll beat them. after a couple of big wins teams always slip up.

Have to say as well, Silvera understands his role. Get the ball, try make a bit of space, ball in. Fair play to the lad. Whittaker has been more effective crossing from the byline using his weak foot than any of his left foot shots aimed at top bins have been - he just cant heep em down

Just a thought. My memory fails me as to what the fans thought of him at the time, but Is Strelec anything like the Munoz loan. He left and then became excellent for Fulham I think it was. We just need to be patient. It may take a year 🤷🏻‍♂️ . And I know we don’t have that time and need results now, but sometimes a player needs time to adapt and learn the English game.  I don’t think he’s playing “his game”. Has the game become so robotic that he’s being asked not to think (stay in the middle) don’t run channels.  Maybe. Then Sene comes on and told just go for it, we are deep crap and need a goal. So he gets to run around all over. Just thinking out loud.

Im not sure I agree, Jones has been fantastic as well and is a close second for me at least

Yea I thought Ayling and Jones were excellent up till the red card. Then Ayling played as the single cb, a deep play maker, #8 and goal scorer. He was *** superb

To be fair I thought everyone bar the front 4 were all good, didn’t really understand the negativity towards Hackney, him and Morris looked back to their best. Just a shame about that moment of madness with the hand ball.

Well we deserved that point at an absolute minimum. We battered them. The problem was for about 60 minutes we created next to nothing again. Once McGree and Nypan came on we started to unlock them a bit, which was primarily down to Riley. He was floating around, finding spaces, he's such a clever player. I really hope he can stay fit, because he's probably our best attacking midfielder.

Read through all the discussion about Conway. What I'd say is that over the last half dozen games or so I can think of 4 guilt edge chances he's missed. I dunno if he just needs one to go on off his backside or something but there's no part of me that thinks he's going to score right now.

I've been his biggest fan and defend him against what I think is undue criticism. But Hackney had a crap game again tonight. Not a clue what the hell was going through his mind for the penalty. I imagine very little.

I thought Brittain got much higher up the pitch as well tonight which I've been desperate for. Thought Morris played quite well. Burgzorg shouldn't be starting. I'm sorry but he's not good enough. He has some moments but that's just not enough. I think despite signing so many players for the three behind the attacker, we're weaker there than last season.

I'm still concerned with our general creativity, but the last 20 minutes or so today was much better. Now we need to do that from the start.

I have to admit I thought Hackney had a really poor game today. And I'm a bit rose tinted with him usually. But I thought Morris was good
