I was surprised to hear solskjaer apparently not on the list tbf, with him actively looking for a job I expected him to get an interview, similar to Gerrard he’s a classic Gibson choice.

Has it not occurred to you that Gibson has left the decision to Scott? This anti Gibson narrative that he is interfering in the decision of the Director of Football is getting quite boring now

Nice tirade after completely misunderstanding what I meant. I wouldn’t mind solskjaer as our manager 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t misunderstand anything. You said that you were surprised that Solskjaer was not on the list because he would be a typical Gibson appointment.

I merely pointed out that Gibson has most likely left the decision to the person he employs as Director of Football.

Wonder if he maybe doesn't fancy it due to loyalty to Carrick? Obviously Carrick is an ex-teammate and worked under Ole at Utd, and while he wouldn't be directly replacing him, perhaps it just feels a bit too soon after his departure to be taking the job? They clearly have a close bond. IIRC, when Ole was sacked by Utd they wanted to keep Carrick on, but it was pretty widely known that Ole was more of a motivator / man manager type while Carrick and McKenna ran the training sessions and were heavily responsible for coaching the team, so he felt that he had to fall on the sword with Ole.

I suppose another thing to consider is that if Carrick left on bad terms, which I guess is possible since he's said absolutely nothing since he was sacked, he could have advised Ole of stuff going on behind the scenes and suggested he not put himself forward for the job.

It was in the echo that Gibson was to be part of the panel and I highly doubt this will be a decision made by one person alone. I really don’t see the problem saying solskjaer fits Gibsons profile as the type of manager he likes because he does. I don’t see how that’s ’anti Gibson’

It is anti Gibson and you know it is. You have absolutely no idea what way Steve Gibson thinks about the appointment of the new manager but you are prepared to announce that you are surprised that Solskjaer is not on the list because he would be a “classic Gibson choice”

Of course he is on the panel Ashe is the pay master but to claim that he is overriding the Director of Football is just pure BS

What on earth are you on about? I think solskjaer is a more than viable option and I don’t see how bringing someone to interview is ‘overriding’ anyone. Bizarre way to go on over such a small thing

You said that he would be a classic Gibson appointment. I merely pointed out to you that maybe Gibson has left the decision to the man he employs (Kieron Scott) to make the decision and for some bizarre reason you seem to think that he would override the decision of the Director of Football. It is high time that you realised that our Chairman is the best in the game and actually supported him for a change

Inviting someone for an interview is not the same as making a decision to hire someone. He’s not overriding anything ffs. That’s the last I’m saying on this you’re just repeating the same nonsense over and over

You started the nonsense with your anti Gibson mambo jumbo. Maybe try and engage your brain before you type?

Although with the nonsense you spouted about Alan Browne maybe you should not bother type at all

You couldn’t possibly have thought he was British 🤷‍♂️If you did I apologise.

The fact that there was no possibility of an Irish player from Cork could ever be deemed to be British is on you. Unless you’re about 120 years old 🙄

Do we know who Wicky’s usual/previous assistants are and if they are out of work?

took a while in the summer to announce the manager as sorting contracts for multiple people.

my guess is if interviews are finished, then take the weekend to finalise thoughts, official internal decision Monday and then few days to get contracts sorted. New manager announced before the weekend but probably watching in the stands while Adi takes the match.
