don't even think it would be mentioned if certain clubs hadn't back tracked recently on trying to bring managers back before their severance pay was up :classic_laugh:

god knows how hard it is to deal with wilder if your clashing after you sacked him once and had to bring him back again.

Why is Carrick’s name being mentioned all of a sudden it’s obvious we wouldn’t bring him back do people not remember what got mentioned that was said in the review 😂

its because Don Hutchinson was asked about him on an interview or podcast or on tv and said he thinks he would go back, that is it

Absolutely not for me. That last 6 months especially under Carrick was just soul destroying and I haven’t felt so disconnected from the club for a long time.

All of our success this season has come from being compact, well-organised, and hard to beat. Going back to Carrick would be doing a complete 180.

I’ve seen enough of him to know that he can’t organise a defence. It would be back to messing about at the back, asking Sol to play it short, turning over possession in our defensive third.

Granted he might well improve us offensively, but we already saw last season that his philosophy of just trying to purely outscore the opposition just wasn’t viable.

Fully agree but I'm wondering if he has maybe had time out to reflect on what he could have done differently plus with Viveash beside him now there might be a meeting of the ways and a hybrid between a decent defence but a more exciting attack. Those last 6 months do however linger on in the memory and not in a good way.

Have to say that there is nobody (unsurprisingly as we are fishing in the "available" pond) that excite me.

There are a few that maybe come under intriguing, a few that are a bit magnolia and a few that scare me (literally in some cases). Hopefully it's well thought out and not knee jerk.

Adi Hütter excites me. The rest come with a fair amount of negatives aswell as positives. Even Rodgers who realistically is levels above the others linked.

I just hope whoever we appoint doesn't come with baggage, I want full focus on getting us promoted with nothing going on behind the scenes. There have been a few Clubs that have had relative success with foreign managers and I'd hope we can pluck one from somewhere in much the same way we did Karanka, albeit hopefully with a bit more flair out on the oitch.

I read that if Gerrard takes a job before April he will have to pay £10m in tax .
No chance he willl do that so
1) Giovanni van Bronckhorst
2) JFH and George Boateng
3) Phillipe Clement
Final answer

Gerrard.

I am a bit more inclined towards Mowbray as a short-term appointment if his health is up to it. Paylor mentioned that he's already familiar with the players and he is probably the head coach who would be most up to speed on day 1.

Hasn't it already been said Woodgate is going in for a hernia op?

that was april this year and reported in jan-mar 2025, there is no impact on him taking a job right now, I've found multiple articles that detail it and they all come from the start of the year. basically if you start work and don't get taxed abroad from the start of a tax year and come back to be a resident all of that income is subject to tax at our local rates.

that expired in April as he was sacked in January.
