We have got to start getting off Tommy's back we are aware of what Hellberg thinks of him and until he gets taken off for a glaringly bad performance then we have to support him.

Yes his missing great chances are frustrating to say the least then as long as he contributes to a team winning performance and scores a rare goal or two then that should sit well with all of us.

A couple of very nice stats - 0 points dropped from winning positions and 25 away points is the most in the top 4 tiers of English football!

This is a huge game, the biggest game. It's very bigly. You never saw a game like this before. When I saw the fixture list come out I thought, "Wow, that's a massive game. It reminds me of a Great Dan

"We" ... speak for yourself (and a few others). Not me.

we should probably play conway as a cdm with how good at tracking back he is. i mean shooting is his main weakness. bit of a problem if you a cf.

I feel like Conway is playing more of a Forrs role than an actual striker. Honestly I’m not even sure how our forward line sets up

A poem about one of Stoke City's players we need to watch out for...

From non-league to the grandest stage,
Young Sorba Thomas turned the page.
Released by West Ham, a path unclear,
Boreham Wood then calmed his fear.

Through shifts at JD Sports and scaffolding high,
He kept his dream beneath the sky.
His talent raw, a fire in the mix,
He mastered the trade of non-league kicks.

To Huddersfield Town, a leap profound,
Where Championship cheers did then resound.
His crosses were magic, assists a sweet flow,
Named Player of the Month, watching his stature grow.

Now at Stoke City, in form he shines bright,
Nine goals so far, a constant delight.
With pace on the wing and a tireless stride,
He makes his own luck with nothing to hide.

Thanks 👍

You're no Dylan Thomas Nobby.

But I think Boro missed a trick by not signing Zorba Thomas. Browne will have a job on his hands keeping him quiet tonight.

I think at the start of the it is a hybrid of 4-2-3-1 and the original 4-2-2-2

Silvera is high and wide on the right. His job is to get to the byline.
Conway starts high in the middle but pulls off to the left, leaving space for Whittaker in the middle. In the final phase of an attack he will head for the 6 yard box.
Whittaker starts in Akpom's old position deep on the right to link up play then breaks towards the middle. Silvera and the RB provide the width.
Gilbert starts level with Whittaker fairly wide but has licence to roam to the middle and looks for a shot from the edge of the box. Sort of a wide #8.
He's tried various permutations but this works because Silvera has pace and enjoys being wide.

Personally, I think Conway's best position (like Forss) is as an inside forward with licence to roam. He's not the main goal scorer for a team. Right now, our main goal scorer is Whittaker and I think Hellberg has adapted the formation to get Whittaker in more scoring positions. What happens when Strelec comes back, I don't know. He won't offer the off-the-ball work that Conway does, the width and pace that Silvera does or the goal scoring threat (presently) that Whittaker does.

Think we really see what we're made of tonight. Weve not really had this kind of pressure on us all season, weve generally been ahead with a bit of breathing space. Now everyone else has played and succeeded, can we do the same with that knowledge? Big test for Kim and the boys

Well no favours given nor expected following last nights results.

Up to the Boro now to maintain a lot of other teams good run of results.

Our away game against Ipswich could be enormous

That four game Bristol, Blackburn, Hull Derby mishap has really put a big dent in our otherwise pristine Hellberg bodywork. Just hope the scratches can polish out.

Its still on my mind a lot, I cant shake it. Its why im desperate for us to bring in a proper striker in the next 10 days and I dont think we get in that top 2 without it. Would have been the difference in that run and we'd still be firmly in the top 2 with room.

Agreed and let us be honest none of the results were expected indeed more than two winning results were anticipated by most of us.

Just getting 3 draws would have helped our points total and kept Ipswich still at bay

Ipswich have been on a really good run with 23 points over the last ten games. Unfortunately that coincided with our blip. Interestingly Hull have amassed 22 points over the same period to our 19 points. Ipswich's 4 additional points in that period has sent us into third, let's hope they peter out soon rather than keep it going although Coventry have only got 15 points in the same time frame so maybe we change our target to a different shade of blue.
