  • I hate to say it but Xhaka was such a great pick up by the mackems. He would've been ideal.

  • Two medicals booked in for week commencing 17th August.

  • Pretty standard NHS waiting times.

On promotion I think we get 1 top tier player for each general position. So 1 CB, 1 CM, 1 striker etc. Probably a couple of outstanding prospects from this league if there are any, Fatawu or Monga for example.

And GK too I'd say. I do love Sol, but he's been a bit shaky of late. Can he step up?

I’d like a new gk

Lorent Tolaj and Kasper Høgh on my summer wish list if we don’t go up

Troy Parrott, Abline, Mayenda, Guiu, Douvikas, etc if we go up

feels like Sol has got more shaky since the new GK coach joined, he looked more unflappable start of the season

probs down to the way we play under Kim more than anything, we are more open than we were under Edwards

I think it's just a slight dip in form. Sort of to be expected. He's effectively been playing for just a season in the Championship and his weaknesses have gradually been exposed. As he works on addressing them, he's probably going backwards a little bit. You expect that in a young keeper: improvement is never linear.

That said, he is still comfortably good enough. It's just a question of managing his performances as he goes through the dip.

Weaknesses? Slow to react at long-distance shots and occasionally gets caught in no-man's land. Both of those are about threat assessment. In L1/2 you have more time to make the assessment than in the Championship.

I do agree Sol has had a couple of shaky moments more recently. Especially vs Stoke. I think the thing is those goals are horrible and awkward to deal with with it being in-between deciding to use your feet or dive for it. He did deal well with a similar shot vs Norwich though. I also dont have the similar stresses or worries the likes of Jones, Lumley etc gave where it felt you are waiting for their next error. I think hes generally recovered well after his errors this season.
