Cheekyget .... I know the guys that are behind this title and there is very high expectations, I will be honest and say that I think its all about hype and the game wont be a classic.I may be wrong but I have seen this type of product too many times in the games industry, great demo, brilliant visuals then crap gameplay.

CB any vibes coming out about dead island? Will it be any good?

Seems pointless to me even despite watching the trailers.

Its kinda been done, and done successfully, with Dead Rising. They've just taken a third person concept and made it first person. For me it doesn't work. Either it tries to be like Left 4 Dead or else Biohazard. It can't be both.

edit: by Biohazard, I mean Resident Evil.

The reason I am not convinced by it is because the developer who are behind it are Techland from Poland and they have never produced anything on a grand scale like this is reported to be (by Deep Silver) and they were more specialists in developing racing games on the PC for a while.

Plus the trailer is not from the game and it was produced by a different company.

When I was at Gamescom last week none of the journo's were talking about it.

Don't know if anyone cares, but just thought I'd give a midseason 2010/11 update of my journey man game! Just hit January and all is going great. I had a preseason media expectation of an 8th place finish and I'm sitting top of the pile, 3 points ahead of Farnborough, who have an extra game to play. Feeling fairly confident of promotion to Blue Square Premier.

Star players have all been new signings. James Cronesberry has been an absolute revelation (21 games, 8 goals and 8 assists from the wing. 7.45 average rating). Julian Brellier has been a rock in midfield. Finally, and best of all, Joris Di Gregorio has been a goal machine. Hes scored 20 goals in 17(2) appearances, as well as 5 assists and an average rating of 7.66.

Unfortunatly I got put out of the FA cup at the second hurdle and the FA trophy at the first. Dont mind though, been focusing on the league.

The finances are an issue. I'm well over my wage budget and the club are 110,000 in debt, which is bad... My biggest challenge will be to try and sort them out over the january transfer window, get some of the higher earners off the bill.

Yeah theres no doubt that there's a massive oversaturation. Theres some great non-FPS games coming out too though. Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Arkham City, The Last Guardian, Assassins Creed and Dark Souls. Plenty to keep us busy!

Ha nice write up. Ive just started my first season with Synners there, only played 2 games so far. I beat Norton and Stockton Ancients 5-1 away and Spennymoor 2-0 at home so good start to the season but the Northern League is a tough slog lol. After being predicted by the 'media' to come 5th Ive improved the team a lot with about 13 free signings on Part Time contracts. Im quietly confident of promotion, but we'll see.
