Our Accummulated League has come to a close following these Week 14 results.

 

As of now we have formed 2 Matchplay Divisions with 26 predictors in each Division.

 

On Monday a fixtures article will be posted for Round 1 of the Matchplay Phase of the 2011/2012 oneBoro Predictions League.

Huntsboro?! are you there?! You just made Division 1, mate! D'you know, I know you've been getting cheesed off with scoring 4 points week in week out... but guess what? It's now officially your lucky number ;)

 

Very very unlucky, Boro 86, you dropped out just at the last moment. But I know that you will be a big challenger for the Division 2 title, so keep your chin up buddy! :)

 

So for those who made Division 1 (well done :)), and for those who just missed out (bad luck :(). As of now, everyone's points are reset to zero, and both Division carry equal prizes - Boro Shirt for 1st, Boro Scarf for 2nd & 3rd.

Just had a look at how close that cut off for Division 1 was. Well done Stubbzy lad :) but my gosh Boro 86 and Vectorboro were so close! Countback is harsh lads, but you'll be strong competitors in Division 2 I promise you!

I took my predictions to one side this week and asked them do you want to be seen winning the premier competition or cruising in the 2nd tier. The response today showed I'm ready to bring on the Total Predicting gameplan the fans have enjoyed over the last year or so. Chicken, Kier, Treknut and Alex your numbers are marked.

Just want to say a couple of words for the 2 lads from the 606 PL who didn't make it into Division 1

 

Jesus and Osvaldo, I think you were both caught by the fact that missing a week or 2 in an accummulated league can really hurt you chances of finishing highly.

 

I really hope to see both of you with us doing well in the matchplay - and a Jesus v Osvaldo battle for the Division 2 title has to be a possibility! :) remember there's a Boro Shirt up for grabs! and next season you'll have a chance of making Division 1 all over again! :)

Job done - only 4 points off 3rd and 1 point from 5th place - top ten is a decent result after the start I had - today was awful, but it also was for a lot of people today. Some unusual results!

 

Well done to Treknut for coming out on top - a fellow division two starter last season!

 

The match play will be exciting - I am looking forward to ties with some old foes as well as the new ones. Barticus is my one to watch!

Another target achieved.

 

As stated previously, I am not a fan of playing this accumilated format & my aim was very simply to comfortably qualify for Division One. Matchplay is my preferred method and this season I have a 'new' technique to try.

 

New Target: To win the league (again) - something I will do & hopefully to have a good cup run, the quarter finals would do me as it is not a priority.

 

Three well dones to get out the way quickly. Welshy - good work, well done on a professional start to running the PL, your organisational skills have been very good. Treknut - Really well done on your excellent predicting form this first half of the season , very impressive. Also to Vectorboro - your Division 2 place was very much deserved.

Cheers, Alex. Means a lot - I know that there are some for the accummulated league and some not so keen on it. The split format will remain next season, however, for a start we will start the season a couple of weeks earlier (remember the aborted start & consequent friendlies cost us at a least a couple of weeks) and thus the matchplay phase will start mid November rather than early December. I may try and spice things up a little next season, but that awaits. For now let the matchplay begin.

 

I'll also keep this professional start going for the remainder of the season.

 

I can see some strong rivalries in both Divisions.

 

Looking forward to the battle of the Admin/Moderators in Division 2 - Vb, TP, DownSouth and Starbuy.

 

Also hoping to get my own back on Armster after he beat me 5-1 in the 1st match before we aborted the original season, and hoping that Boro-unger will do a welsh coloured theme for when we play each other (maybe a Dragon?) ;)

 

As for Division 1, Chickenlunch v 2plus2, Alex v Andy, Smogster v Kier are fixtures I'll be keeping my eyes out for. But d'you know I'm going to wish young Stubbzy all the best also, and I think he's going to be looking forward to pitting himself against Alex :)
