Zhimai 16 2.3k
Noddy1989, i like your formation too we need to stop conceding cheaply goals i will opt for 3 CBs but for me, i prefer Emnes to Thomson but they have no major difference indeed. With Emnes, we could have a more pacy player on the pitch while Thomson will allow Hoyte and Bennett more chances and cover for overlapping
Guest Tellerion 0
•Score Prediction - 2-1 (Juke and Hines to get the two goals.) •Should Emnes be dropped? - Yes, would love to see either Main or Williams given a shot, as Emnes has been woeful lately, but it wont happen. •Who will be our key man? - Bates •Who is their dangerman? - Zaha •Hoyte or Bennett at left back? - Bennett •Should we rest some players for the FA Cup Replay? - Nope, league is far more important. 2plus2 293 6.8k
> Score Prediction? Fancy us to win this one. 2-1. Need a victory to get our promotion push back on track. Been too long. > Should Emnes be dropped? I would have probably said yes, but now that McDonald is injured he must start. > Who will be our key man? Difficult to single out one. Don't think we're that type of team. But Bailey if he were fit!! > Who is their dangerman? Zaha. > Hoyte or Bennett at left back? Bennett. Have no idea why a bad RB would start at LB. > Should we rest some players for the FA Cup Replay? No. Definitely not. --------------------Steele-------------------- -----McMahon---Bates---Hines---Bennett----- ---Haroun----Thomson---Williams----Robson--- --------------Emnes---Jutkiewicz------------- Two questions: (1) How did Hoyte do against Leicester? (2) How did Martin do when he came on for the last 20 mins?
Guest Tellerion 0
(2) How did Martin do when he came on for the last 20 mins? I think Martin was anonymous, but can't be blamed because of the lack of pitch-time. Reminds me of Kink, doesn't contribute that much, apart of the odd goal now and then. Kink is (was) dreadful. I've liked what I've seen of Martin so far. Good shot on him and seems composed on the ball. Problem is that we haven't really seen very much of him! I'd like to think he could be a real asset, and part of me thinks he really could, but there must be a good reason as to why Mogga continually leaves him out of the starting 11. boro-unger 4,355 17.6k
Hoyte at right to match Zaha's pace think that might be a good idea actually, i can see mcmahon getting frustrated/sent off due to zaha's speed and trickery.
Guest SniperSmog 0
Hoyte is prone to mistakes but suits the RB role, might be a risk putting him in that position

I honestly think you're being too kind to him. He was shocking. Every time he got the ball (at least 5-6 times) we were begging for the pace to be slowed down a little, to think before getting rid of the ball. Instead he made the first pass that he could see and lost it every time. I'm not certain on this, but I actually think his pass rate could have been 0%, or close to it. I don't think its the first time either. His passing has been awful since hes joined us, even the games he scored in he did nothing besides them. I think the comparison to Kink is fair with that regard. In summary, I dont want him anywhere near the team.

I want to see a little more from him before I judge, especially as I didn't see his Leicester performance. His first couple of appearances I was fairly impressed (not just his shots) but the general opinion of him has definitely gone downhill since! Not so sure comparing him to Kink is fair though. Kink offered literally nothing.

Magooder 40 2.7k
This is how I'd like to see us lineup actually: ---------------Steele------------- McMahon--Bates--Hines--Bennett -----Haroun--Williams--Robbo------- L. Williams------------------Emnes --------------Juktiewicz---------------- Good point about Hoyte being able to deal with Zaha's pace but McMahon has put in two solid performances for us in the last two matches (despite the short backpass) and is overall the better defender than Hoyte imo. I think he deserves to start and I'm sure he'll want to make up for that mistake last match. 4-3-3 would have us lineup to attack, which I really think we should do at home against a mid-table team. Luke Williams was one of our better players under Strachan and offers us a threat going forward. When we offered almost nothing going forward, he was the one that tried to drive the team forward and ran at the opposition, he was a real handful on his day. I don't think throwing him into the team now that Skippy is out injured would be a bad idea.. he's played for the first team before. Wouldn't mind seeing Main given his chance in this match either. Armster 29 4.4k
Can see a defeat here, we'll be back to 4-4-2 hoping that juke will get off the mark, as he's been damn close a few times now. thomson to replace macdonald so haroun thomson williams and robbo as the midfield 4 with emnes playing off juke palace are playing some good attacking football at the mo, so going for a 2-1 defeat
Downsouth 7,563 37.9k
Well I hope you are wrong Armster because with Saints playing Birmingham there is a good opportunity to catch up on both of them. We never have an easy game against Palace and wish for once we could score a hatful of goals but a hard fought 2-1 win for Boro will be a real boost for everyone
