Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

Ogenyi Onazi has been denied a work permit to play for Birmingham City

It's weird because it seems they rejected it solely based on the fact his countries been a bit *** lately? Doesn't seem entirely fair?

That is part of the criteria though mate, or at least it's supposed to be.  I don't know how often it gets applied as you don't often hear of work permits being refused.

Huh I didn't realise ability of country was such a big factor, always thought it was the % of games played bit that was important. You're right though, you don't hear about too many failed ones.

I think the FIFA ranking is supposed to be, I remember reading something about it a while ago.  I suppose the idea is that it stops someone with 100 caps for say, I dunno, Papau New Guinea getting a permit just because they happen to have a lot of caps for a poor international side.  I wonder if it would have been rejected had it been Man Utd trying to sign a Nigerian international?

It definitely does.

I have a wonderkid left back who has 20 caps for Peru at 18 sitting in my affiliate club in fm because he can't get a work permit due to Peru being rubbish!

Hull's Abel Hernandez ruled out for six months after surgery on a ruptured Achilles

That's a huge huge blow for Hull's aspirations, he is a cracker at this level and will be tough for them to replace.

BArkley has just been ruled out until mid november. That probably puts an end to Evertons hope of getting a good price. If he doesn't extend his contract he is likely to leave for free next summer.
