Don't understand why managers see it as an attractive job. Apparently Managers wages over here are considerably higher than at other European Clubs even at Championship level. If the new Manager is on say £150K a year at his existing Italian club and is then offered £450K a year by Watford on a two and a half year contract then even getting sacked in six months is very lucrative. By crude maths they would walk away with around £900K (or six years of their current salary for doing nothing). Some may even take the job knowing they will be short lived and that could be their primary motivation which would perhaps also explain why they don't last long and so the cycle then continues.

Makes sense for the managers I guess...provided they're okay with having virtually zero job stability. Still an idiotic way to run a club though IMO. Would love to see them drop out of the top 6 and finish mid-table now, just to spite the owners. Any bets on Mikel Arteta seeing out the season?

The Pozzo family have been relatively successful at Watford despite doing things in an unauthodox manner.
wilsoncgp 9,280
I suspect after what happened to Dale Stephens 4.5 years ago, Brighton fans will think this isn't a red card. Maybe they'll even initiate the appeal for John Lundstram.

Essuuaitch 330
yet another in a long long list of crazy sackings at Watford. made worse for the fact its a recurring thing at this trigger happy club but even more alarming is that its also not the first time that a manager that had the audacity to not pick Troy Deeney in the starting line up has been dushed out the treatment of choice. the Bilic sacking was contencious but this latest Watford slaying is crazy and dispicable. They've at best been a mid-table PL team and won no silverware. In the meantime they've gone through 12 managers in 9 seasons, sacking some when they've been in decent positions. They had 4 different managers / head coaches one season and 3 last season. How is a team supposed to achieve any kind of stability or identity when you change managers that often? Then you look at clubs who stick with their managers - even when relegated - and that continuity allows them to bounce back. Just look at Norwich. I certainly wouldn't say the Pozzos have achieved any kind of success.
RiseAgainst 3,792
They've probably made lots of money from their time at Watford. For many investors and owners, that's the only success that matters. See also Ashley, M.

They were promoted with Bournemouth and Burnley, they were relegated with Bournemouth, Burnley are still up there. Neither of those clubs changed managers in that time period, was sacked Watford went through a million. Howe left after the season ended. Their high sacking rate hasn't made them any more successful than the teams they went up with, and they've been eclipsed by other teams that have been promoted since.
