Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

What the hell!?!

just to clarify it's the TRIALLISTS who have had blank contracts handed, not every player which it can be read as originally haha.

Still mad because they have like 7+ triallists and unless the EFL change their minds, they can only sign 4 of them.

Aaaaah that makes more sense.

Still, what a sh*tshow. Surely this is will only end with relegation.

Well, if they don't get them signed in time to play on Saturday and are forced to play youth players, they won't be able to sign them at all because those youth players will count as professional and fill up their squad limit.

Huge 24 hours at Derby.

That would make slightly more sense but Nixon did put "ALL" in Capitals in his tweet. I wonder what the EFL are thinking right now, probably not very pleased with themselves and hoping that Derby don't implode any further. No doubt there will be some squeaky bums with the suits if Derby collapse and Wycombe justifiably come after them. Not much they can do as the EFL hold all the aces but they can certainly kick up a stink making life very uncomfortable even forcing a few to fall on their swords or pushed more likely by others trying to save their skins.

Not really the EFLs problem, the EFL have set out rules for how many Derby can sign and at what wages, it's Derby pushing the time limit asking for exceptions to be made and things to be increased.

Think this part is really important in terms of what Derby can or can't do. If Derby can find players willing to sign to a given set of terms, they can sign players and build up their squad.

Coming into this first game, if the only reason Derby are going to have youth players playing (and thus turning into players of professional standing) is because of restrictions they don't agree with, they don't really have a leg to stand on. That's a choice they've made within the given restrictions, a risk they have been willing to take.

The EFL responded pretty quickly to the situation surrounding the players who played against Chorley Town in the FA Cup, that was the only issue which seemed a bit murky but with that having been sorted out, Derby have the capability to sign players, they just don't want to because they don't agree with the wage boundaries or other restrictions.

Tough. This is a mess of their own making, they don't get to decide their own punishment. In many ways, they're lucky to still be in this division this season.

and Wycombe who played with a straight bat are unlucky to be in League One. Sadly it doesn't say much for the morals of the game when one Club who has ducked and dived for years just teetering on the brink of cheating are still in the Championship when other Clubs like Wycombe have succumbed when they may have survived by underhanded tactics.

Last week I spoke to someone behind the scenes at Man Utd who said they have a very highly rated academy player called Shay Lacey (if I heard it correctly) who has the dribbling and close control ability of a young Messi. This is coming from someone who has seen Morrison, Pogba, Rashford etc come through during his time there, and his potential stands out as above theirs. He's not listed in any of their under 18 or 23 squads, but from how he described him, he isn't too far below the under 18 age level. He ominously ended with "when he plays first team football, you'll know what I mean".
