Ok. Not sure whats going on as only have Arabic commentary. Though there are some good teams in it. This kind of thing makes a mockery of the BBC article saying the competition should be taken seriously.

So, basically:

- Ref blows full time at 85 minutes. Restarts game.
- Gives a red card to a Mali player for some reason, VAR tells him it's the wrong choice, ignores VAR.
- ends game again at 89 minutes, despite a goal, a red card, multiple VAR check and 5 breaks for subs.
- ref escorted off pitch by security as Tunisia coach trying to get to him
- in post game press conference, Mali coach told the game will be restarted - absolutely beside himself.
- Mali players eventually go back on the pitch, Tunisians do not
- 4th official takes charge as ref.
- Reports that Tunisia weren't told about the decision to play on until they were already back on their bus.
- Other reports claim Tunisia want to invoke a rule that says if 90 minutes isn't completed, a rematch can be ordered.

The ref involved in this ended an Egypt vs Nigeria game in the 2017 Afcon qualifiers while Mo Salah was one on one on goal and was provisionally suspended for corruption in 2018 for his performance in a CAF Champions League match.

Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

Mickey Mouse tournament

DZ I really think you should keep some of your opinions to yourself, you are being disrespectful to many players originally from African nations, berating a tourmement that is considered the same as UEFA. I wonder if you feel the same with regards to the South American competition/

To be honest some of your comments are border line racist to a degree and not called for.

Please take heed

Give over.  There’s nothing racist in anything he’s said. Is this where we are at now? If something involves black people and isn’t regarded as amazing then you are being racist? Absolutely pathetic 🤦‍♂️

Tell this guy he's playing in a mickey mouse tournament, mate. This comp means a lot to these guys and you're being very disrespectful.

All well and good and I'm pleased for that guy, but you can't honestly tell me with a straight face that the AFCON is anywhere near being on the same level as the Copa America/Euros or World Cup.

It is to the African nations and the players playing in it, yes and who are you to deny that?

Please. I'm about as far away from being a racist as it's possible to be, my past comments on things like BLM and taking the knee prove that.

Disappointed that's where you've chosen to go with this Alan, I know my posts can be very near the knuckle at times but to be called a racist is uncalled for.

In that case should the Papa John's trophy be respected as much, after all it's the highest level some of those players will ever get to play at?

Don't be daft, mate.

Jesus christ man, that's where you're gonna go? Really?

AFCON is Africa's biggest international tournament and African players want to play in it. It deserves more respect.

AFCON is the highest level of continental competition for African nations. The EFL Trophy is essentially a third-tier cup trophy contested by Third and Fourth Division sides and some teams' U23 teams. It's not remotely the same.

My grandson scored the winner in a 5-a-side tourney for Under 12s a couple of yrs ago. He was very emotional.

I was chuffed for him but I don't think it got much respect from the rest of the footballing world.

I can understand why, most of the players were rubbish. The opposition goalkeeper was chasing a butterfly when the winner was scored.
