Non-Boro Football

Big day for local non-league teams with Marske playing Stockton for promotion to Northern Premier ...  may be a bit of a stretch but in a few years time, one or both could be pushing for the EFL..

Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

Rooting for Scarborough athletic getting promotion into Conference (North). Managed by Jonathan Greening who used to play for Middlesbrough, so double reason for hoping they get there.

Burnley look like pulling off the Great escape.

Hope this doesn't mess around with our summer with the will he/won't he speculation. We need to be on the ball this summer with such big changes likely, we can't afford getting messed around for weeks then losing our manager.

Leeds or Everton likely to go down, you love to see it

Would rather Burnley came down for our own promotion chances next year

Everton for me. They have a massive financial black hole so there will be a mass exodus. Lampard looks to be a fair weather manager and will be gone by Christmas as they struggle in mid table.

They have had a good run.. think only Arsenal have enjoyed top flight football for a longer period and even if some of the squad bail out, they will still expect to be in the mix to bounce straight back, so wouldn't write them off. They will be contenders but a lot will depend on who is running the show. Might not be teams standing out from the rest, but have a feeling that it could be very competitive so our recruitment will be extremely important. we know where the problems are and we have to reach a position where we have choices rather than seeing the same faces even when they are struggling. I have enjoyed the season and if next season is even better, then good enough for me.

Not a local story but still a heartwarming one - Bury have emerged from administration, and have reacquired the rights to use their historic memorabilia and club records going forwards.

Apologies for linking to the Mail, but it's where I found the best coverage on this occasion.

Great news! Sounds like all they need now is to put a team together and register for whatever non-league division they are eligible for.

Huge result for Everton beating Chelsea, didn't think they'd win that one.

Don’t know if it had an effect but Everton fans were letting fireworks off outside the Chelsea hotel until 3 o’clock in the morning
