Actually the better side tonight so far but it took a brilliant save from Randolph to keep it at 0-0, Miss him!!

Yes great save from my fellow Bray man at the end of the first half @Leesider. I hope we keep it up as we are looking like the better team

Yeah thanks @TeaCider24 the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 will paddle our own canoe 🛶

It's only fair that I treat the Republic of Ireland as a neutral team.

1922.

Not that I'm rooting against them, but I've got no stake in the result.

Ah the old empire is crumbling.... fair enough if that’s what you think. You’re entitled to your opinion 👍

I'm not sure what the issue is or why there's cause for the unpleasant implication in your post?

I like Ireland, but it is a foreign country, I wouldn't root for Australia either.

Scotland are starting to knock at the door against Israel, but they've been largely second best for most of the match.

I feel like someone's going to get sent off though, lots of tough tackles.

You implied the division with the 1922 remark, not me. Let’s leave it there

Ah, that wasn't at all what I was trying to say, I hadn't even considered it would come across that way, I'm sorry, that's poor wording on my part.

I'd actually thought that just saying Ireland is a foreign country would come across as too blunt, and my alternative has inadvertently came across as worse.

I apologise.

I consider myself as British as anyone from Middlesbrough is, but the Republic can hardly be considered a foreign country, whether it literally is or not.

It's certainly full of strange people.  That's based solely on the evidence of this forum.

Always nice to get the opinion of a weirdo 👍 Thanks CT

    • Redcar R I don't think it is down to the boots.  Browne stuck his leg well into the turf with an apparent intention of creating a "solid hip " to lever the player away.  We've all done it ! I was quite surprised that he got injured and tended to assume that it was because he'd used his inside leg to make it less obvious. I've seen a knee go back in again on its own but it is an odd and very upsetting sight to see a knee cap next to where is should be
    • As far as I have read all countries have been put into different tiers and players are awarded points according to league, international games, caps etc. It doesn't matter if you are EU or non-EU. It's easier for some south american players than before Brexit but certainly not easier than a European. https://worldfootballindex.com/2020/12/work-permits-premier-league-post-brexit-english-clubs-efl-libertadores/
