I think the Parkinson sacking may bite the Makems in the backside. I assume there is more to the story than just the on field performances, if not they may just have sealed their long term fate in League One for a very long time.

I think Phil Parkinson is a very underrated manager. He worked wonders at Bradford, and I was disappointed he'd gone to the Mackems because I thought he'd get them up. He seems like a level-headed man-manager capable of getting the best out of limited talent, so the fact he's left after such an underwhelming spell in charge suggests there are really big problems behind the scenes.

Season three of STD [deliberate typo] will be worth watching...

The Mackems I know are all delighted he's gone.  The football was terrible apparently, amongst other things.

Some decent draws in Cup...  hope that  the TV matches aren't the all-Prem ties, some of the smaller teams could do with money and a screening of the Chorley and Stockport games could keep them above water for rest of season. Good luck to both of them and also hope Canvey Island get through to hold a different sort of derby.

Anyone watching the West Ham/Villa game?  I know he did get a bit of a kick just then but that collapse by Grealish was hilarious 😃

Here's the clip of it.

Just when I'd started to warm to him after he started playing for England, he reminds me why I find him such a knob.

Only way to make them think twice is to start dishing out suspensions for simulation..  thought he'd been hit by a sniper

Thanks for clearing that up Uwe. People complaining that he had dived and the whole time he had been shot by Chuck Norris 🙄

I hope that his accusers apologise 🤣🤣🤣

In the old days a Chopper Harris or a Norman "bites yer legs" Hunter would sort the likes of Grealish out. Nowadays Football matches resemble pantomimes more than a Football match.

I'm not advocating thuggery on the pitch but after a pathetic simulation like that you could guarantee a cynical, scything tackle incoming very soon, leaving him rolling around with something to cry about. It soon sorted out the men from the boys and Referees seemed to be less protective in those days and wanted to get on with it.

With all the camera angles backed up by VAR, robust challenges are penalised nowadays which is fair enough as we want to watch football not martial arts but as Old Codger says there should be punishment for that type of behaviour from Grealish. Infringements, be they offside's or cynical tackles are now immediately reviewed and punished, simulation should be dealt with just as swiftly. A sending off would be a just and effective deterrent.

While I agree that Jack Grealish has been brilliant this season for both club and country, I find it annoying that he’s compared to Gazza. Some of the tackles that he just rode to carry on moving forward were horrible it would’ve taken  a freight train to take him down

This.

Even if you compare him to someone like Adama who fly's through challenges and won't go down unless he has to. Grealish is built, he has huge legs, he doesn't need to go down at every touch but he does

Agreed.

Grealish is another one of those infuriating players. Hugely talented but some of his behaviour is just embarrassing.

He's shown he can avoid / play through tackles when he wants to. Yet he so often goes down like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Doubly embarrassing when he forgets which leg he got tapped on.

    • 1. Bettinelli Dijksteel, Fry, McNair, Bola Howson, Tav, Morsy Watmore, Britt, Johnson 2. Given our record at the City ground, I'd take a draw. But do think we should look at this game as a chance to pick up 3 points. 3. Britt has a 100% conversion rate when it comes to penalties this season (so far). 4. Hughton can and possibly will, but I'm not sure it'll be this season. 5. Being sat in 7th place surely makes us a playoff candidate now. I think this season we'll be there or there abouts, but not sure we'll actually end up in the playoff spots come match day 46. 6. Pep will. 7. McDonald's I'd say, but even so their quality control is as consistent as Marv's crosses into the box.
    • Bryn Morris (touted as the next big academy graduate at one stage) has joined Northampton on loan from Portsmouth. Hopefully he can get a decent amount of game time at the Cobblers, he's not really had a look in at Portsmouth.
    • Haha sorry @Brunners. I thought some other poster made the comment about you regarding Roberts. Everything @BillyWoofs_shinpad said bar his comment about Brunners. Whole hearteldy disagree with that particular comment*
