TeaCider24 12,631
Reading against Luton too. Plenty of matches with teams from the Home Counties. Small surprise because Omicron is absolutely rife in London right now, though I'm sure it will reach the rest of his in similar waves soon enough.
RiseAgainst 3,792
My hometown club Carlisle have just reduced their stadium capacity to 9,999 to ensure fans don't have to have a COVID passport to attend. Since the average Blues home gate is around 5,000, I don't think it'll materially affect attendance, but they are encouraging fans to buy tickets in advance so they don't miss out! Yep it will spread out fast around the rest of the country soon. My office is in London and many have gone down with it last couple of weeks after few months of barely anyone seeming to catch it. Lots round near where I live now too.
Humpty 3,260
I’ve got one more day of isolation left. A PCR confirmed I had it last week. It’s put a right kibosh on a lot of our Christmas plans 👎🏻

It’s a shame for my wife as she’s on maternity leave and was looking forward to getting out and about with and without the little lad. Still waiting on her PCR test if it’s positive, then Christmas really is ***.

Here you only have to be in isolation for 48 hours after the symptoms have gone, so if she's positive and without symptoms you should be good to go shortly. Or is it the full 7 days if there are no symptoms? So freakin many rules.
Humpty 3,260
Full 10 days unfortunately from a positive PCR or when the symptoms first show. It's my last day today in quarantine on the top floor of my house. Fingers crossed it hasn't been in vain and the wife is all clear. Hallelujah!

AnglianRed 6,320
We could be seeing plenty more games cancelled. Just read the article below: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59686996 Frankly I'm appalled and disgusted that 1 in 4 EFL players are still un-vaccinated and have no intention to get jabbed. Such stupid selfish behaviour. Not only are they putting their team mates and and everyone else at their clubs at risk, but also their families and friends. To my mind, the clubs could also sue them for breach of contract, by not taking all necessary measures to ensure they are available to play. Obviously would never happen, but I'm pretty sure if most of us engaged in behaviour that put our work colleagues at risk, we wouldn't remain in our jobs very long. While many of us have the luxury of working from home, or Covid-safe working arrangements in the workplace, that just isn't an option with football. Unless they have medical conditions that would make getting vaccinated as dangerous as contracting Covid, there is no valid reason for not doing so. Also surprised the EFL, Sky etc. aren't making more of a fuss about this. I don't know what the situation is regarding postponed fixtures and TV revenue, but when a club can't fulfil its fixtures on schedule, it must make a lot of folks unhappy (and not just the fans). Downsouth 6,326
You can only presume these mega rich young men are fully behind conspiracy stories and so much better than anyone else! Agents must be having a field day looking into contracts. This needs sorting out
SouthernSmoggie 4,242
Don't think an employer forcing someone to have a vaccination sits right with me. With the obvious exception of nurses or carers who work with highly clinically vulnerable people (which has always been the case). Better education is the answer if you want to bring people round to your point of view - trying to force them simply hardens their belief that they're being coerced into something bad.

The government themselves point out that having the jab doesn’t stop you getting the virus and it doesn’t stop you spreading it. It prevents you from being seriously poorly. The CDC has even show their is correlation between vaccine uptake and infection rates. and I am double jabbed.

Also young footballers who are the fittest of the fittest are extremely extremely unlikely to have any serious side effects from COVID. Pretty sure it’s like 99.97% or something (don’t know exact figure), so I can completely understand why many footballers don’t want it. They should be allowed to do whatever they want with there bodies and shouldn’t be forced or looked down upon for not taking this vaccine or any other vaccine.
