Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

He’s managing the game against us then leaving

Stepping down after our game on Saturday 😂

Typical.

Weird one. They're doing pretty well - only 3 points behind us if they win their game in hand.

Just looking at their results and didn't realise they beat Burnley and Leeds back to back last month.

That's quite unusual - sack the manager but leave him in post for another week. I'm struggling to think of any other scenarios where that's happened in recent years?

"Mutual decision" my ***.

Probably good for us if anything. Players won't care about impressing him and the club will be in turmoil.

Alternatively they put in one hell of a final performance for him as no doubt he will give an emotional final teamtalk.

mutural just means they agreed a mutural settlement package usually, and/or agreed not to say they had been sacked to be nice if that was actually the case lol

I might be wrong but i think we gave Warnock one extra match so he beat his records etc before kicking him out

Hard to tell what actually happened with Warnock given he likes to embellish and exaggerate all the time.

But he broke the record in the game before his final game and he then said he'd known for weeks that he was being sacked.

The comments about him being locked out of the training ground and prevented from collecting his stuff would seem at odds with the idea of the club giving him extra games for sentimental value.

I feel like it was probably more just waiting for the international break.

Must be the first time a manager has been told it will be his final game when playing the Boro, fingers crossed we can end his career on a defeat, but as a former Millwall player he's done well there

A mutual decision, maybe he's looking at it from being a Millwall fan (I think I read) a legend where he's he's done so well & doesn't want to spoil his love from the fans & to leave while its all good
