Derbys downfall was not being able to adapt when Martin and another key player got injured. Bent and ince are quality players we all know that and if Derby click they will be strong contenders this season.

The only issue I can think is that it's the board and not the manager picking the players bought in unless this new manager wanted exactly the same as Schtevie. And it may not suit his ideas 100%

Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

They have indeed, and as things stand I would say they have the strongest squad in the championship.

Wasn't strong enough second half of last season and I can't see Weimmann adding much else

I think it would be naive to suggest Derby didn't have any problems second half of last season, and that their playing personnel were the sole reason they slumped.

Injuries to key personnel and McLaren's head being turned had as much to do with it as anything. In my opinion.

I'm not worried about other teams. Derby have put together a strong squad there is no doubt of that but let them worry about that. Boro have to just concentrate on each game as it comes and playing the way we know we can.

Apart from a new terrible pseudo striker and a second rate defender, Derby have the same team as the one that got 1 win in the final 15 games of the season. Add to that a totally unproven manager and I would say they haven't improved a great deal.

And do you think the quality of the players was equal to 1 win in 15? Are you realistically expecting them to be relegated this season? Because if not, last season's slump probably isn't as relevant as you suggest.

No I don't. I'm just trying to bring some perspective to the view that they suddenly have the strongest squad in the league and really mean business. They haven't really improved from last season and adding a completely new manager without experience as being the boss is always going to be dangerous. I appreciate the fact we did the same when signing AK but he obviously took time to learn the ropes in the championship.

It's nothing to do with the players quality, it's to do with their bottle, or lack of it, to collapse and finish outside the playoffs. They will be there or there about this season, I don't think anybody is saying that they won't be, but will they be able to go the distance and deal with the inevitable injuries that come with a championship season? I'm not so sure.

As I'm not a Derby fan I don't know the full details, but I'm pretty sure they lost all their strikers, both their holding midfielders, plus at least one other first teamer to injury. Could any team in the league have coped with that? I can't imagine we would.

Anyway, the point I made initially is that with the group of players they have at the moment they'll be feeling confident. I stand by that.

2 cracking results tonight. England women beat the Germans bringing some pride to English sport I hope the men take note. Then Chile beating the Argies. Sanchez with a balls of steel penalty to win it as well. Chile have been some team for a few years now its nice to see they have finally got their first major honour.

brentford look like they are signing josh mceachren. i told them on their forum he was lightweight, a nice footballer and never really made an impact for us.

got shot down for giving my opinion which was not all rosy and sparkly as you would expect.

what can you guys remember about him. he got young player of the year still. i can just remember that awful pass what led to the goal when we lost a brum, and the fact he never had a battling bone in his body. i'd never want him back and was glad he left.

All I remember is that he was a bit lightweight easily pushed of the ball

But an intelligent footballer that would get into so nice positions and play some great little through balls. The main issue is the Guy just wouldn't shoot. Hopefully he's sorted that out as I think he has decent potential
