Lennon is working within his means. I don't think he's anything special, but I don't think you can blame him for the awful players that he's been forced to sign. Unless you want to level the same thing at Mowbray with Dyer/Hamill etc.

Their is a fascinating article about the Boro in today’s Athletic... Nine championship games in 29 days.  Following a team in their maddest run ever.    Neil Warnock was on the pit

Centuries ago Villages had ducking stools whereby if the person drowned they were innocent and if they lived they were guilty and sentenced to death. Nowadays not much has changed sadly. Idiots postin

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I probably shouldn’t have made things public, but I was at as very low ebb. It’s been a difficult year, not made better by COVID. Lockdown bucket lists aren’t

I don't know about you but I tend to erase certain ex Boro players from my mind, like they never played for us. Those two are a case in point.... I initially thought "who?" and then the full horror began to seep in....

I'd argue Lennon's circumstances are much more difficult and with much worse financial constraints. At least the squad Mowbray inherited possessed some degree of quality in places and we were able to pay fees (albeit we didn't have the amount of room to maneuver that we've had in recent times).

Bolton can't afford anyone of any quality, even wage-wise with free agents. Feel for them as just a few seasons back they were one of the stronger teams looking for a quick bounce back to the prem. Now they look closer to going like Portsmouth.

Sorry, yeah, I wasn't saying the situations are the same, just that they're comparable in that you can't really blame a manager for signing rubbish players when finances are restricted (although the levels of restriction are different)

Fair, I'd agree with that. He's not evidenced that he's the best manager, but he can't (or rather shouldn't) be held accountable for their current position. The buck stops with the owners, and with players not being paid that sentence is more literal than it ever has been.

What an odd move for Gary Neville. I hope he doesn't end up regretting it.

Very bold move from him, I've always thought he's got what it takes to be a top manager, time will tell. First up..Barcelona :D

GN has walked straight into a great managerial position at Valencia, Big club to take over as your first managers job..

I didn't know what to expect from him when he got the job at Skt but I like him.. What a great first game he has but Barcelona are rampant at the moment.

And people thought Valencia was too big a club for AK. The devil inside me thinks this is not a long term appointment. Valencia probably waiting for someone to become available, *cough cough* AK if he doesn't take us up...

They'd want AK if he doesn't take us up?  Why exactly?

The reason he's there is because Peter Lim has obviously asked him to do it, whether it's short term or not will probably depend on how well they do and how well he settles over there.  I think it's an odd move but if it goes well for him it will certainly open a number of doors.
