I just don't get it. I genuinely can't even begin to understand the logic.

He can't be on huge wages? He loves the club. Puts in the effort every week, has the skills to succeed at the top level in this league and possibly the premiership. He is Mr Consistency.

Why oh why would we sell him?

It will be a stupid decision to get rid of Bailey given how effective he is in holding midfield especially when we play away from home in a compact formation but if Mowbray thinks he can spend the wages/small transfer fee better then so be it. But I think we really need him given sicknote Thomson is never fit so will leave us thin in CM if we dont replace him.

Im glad we are looking at getting loans as we have proved that we are a great place to be for young players from big clubs looking to play and develop. As seen by playing McEachran every game he has been fit, so Chelsea and other big clubs will be more than willing to loan us their young quality players.

Nick Powell would be a beast signing to add some quality CM depth but I can't see us being able to guarantee him 1st team football as we already have McEachran and Leadbitter who are doing very well together. Hopefully we can sign a Winger/Creative midfielder's like; Serge Gnabry- from ***nal who would tear this league apart, Lucas Piazon- has a huge reputation but ive never seen him play but if the rumours are to be believed then we were looking at him this summer so the club must rate him. Im really hoping Mowbray can pick up a gem or two like the names above in January to help us make a strong end to the season unlike our awful mid to end of season form last year.

McManus and Bailey will be gone in January.

The club will look at the loan market as a priority rather than buying a player.

Just what I feared, makes sense though. McManus has no long term future here and im sure all will wish him well elsewhere. Bailey, although I love him and the passion he shows, he is visbley not that fit, technically quite limited and I'd guess he is on the higher side of wages we are paying. As for loaning in, it's well known there is very little value in the Jan market due to panic buying, so it makes sense.

i dont think we will miss Bailey too much and he seems he is only a bench warmer considering Leadbitter plays as DM atm and Thomson seems in front of him in the pecking order.

the only concern is if we could find a suitable replacement for McEachran and Leadbitter. I hope they keep injury free all season but i really think there isnt any ideal replacement for both capable of retaining ball possession and game rhythm. R Williams perhaps could fill the DM role. Defensively he is okay but he is nowhere near to the skill of controlling game done by Leadbitter. how about Thomson? i dont rate him as everyone knows. haha...

i believe Leadbitter has improved his game from what i saw him play wearing Ipswich's jersey. He shows he is now capable of keeping the ball a bit longer finding right players for passing. He is our "Xabier Alonso".

Mogga has gone on record that he wants another Carayol type of player, which I personally think is great news.

Along with that, Mogga must look at being able to survive without McEachran. He is a loan player and could be called back in January. He and Leadbetter - who I was very underwhelmed when I heard about his signing, but have been really surprised by his quality (so in mogga's judgement we must trust) - have been pivotal in realising Mogga's style of play and I feel the current success is down to them. So a McEachran replacement is critical, and more important that a Carayol type player.. I am sure Thomson was the original McEachran type player, and at time he has shown his class, but his injury record has obviously let him down. I have no idea who this player is/should be, but there must be some lower league players (like Carayol was) who could step up...

Finally, I wouldn't be surprised is Downing came in on loan. He needs to regain his confidence so a spell away from Anfield at Boro would do him the world of good. His wages would cost a bit, but he is a quality player and would add a lot to the promotion push and so would be a good investment for Gibbo to sanction.

Really Downing? Can see him in the opposition shirt but not in a Boro shirt for a long long time!

I am saddened about Bailey also one of the reason is that we are seemingly accepting the Thomson situation and that for me is wrong! We know Bailey plays in a particular manner but we sure as hell do not know when and if Thomson will play at all.......sick note extrodinaire!

I have noticed something with Bailey, when he plays central, we tend to end up playing too deep. Now, I like Bailey and I was one of the ones calling him for him to play more advanced but I also consigned myself to losing him back in the summer. If Mowbray can use his wages to bring in some attacking quality that helps us in our push for promotion, then so be it.

If Bristol stays in their current mess I think adomah is a luxury they can't afford. They will need experienced players to drag them out. Enter Mogga. I've been wanting him since last January and him an carayol on either wing would murder teams.

However, Ledesma now has two months to make the position his own, and he showed agains Wednesday that he can keep his own in this division.
