Taken from the tweets of @BoutrosGali who was the only person i know there at the game.

Boro: Coddington, Helm, Tinkler, Morris, Weledji, Elsdon, Jones, Griffiths, Fewster, Bennett ©, Warnett (McCarthy).

Subs: McGlade, Armstrong, McCarthy, Kitching, Bland (GK)

The game was scheduled to be played on Thursday gone but due to freezing weather it was rescheduled for Saturday. Fulham the Academy champions from last season had already put Boro to the sword twice this season beating them 5-1 and 6-0 and included Woodrow and Tankovic who had scored a hat trick in those games.

Fulham settled quickly into the game and Coddington was equal to their early oppertunities. Boro took their time to settle and took the lead when U16 centre back Matthew Elsdon blasted the ball in from the edge of the box after a Boro corner.

Fulham hit back instantly though through Hyndman. Boro didnt sit back though and Bryn Morris found Jordan Jones who shot just wide. Boro also had a strong penalty claim turned down after Bradley Fewster was pushed to the ground inside the Fulham area.

Fulham seemed to flick into another gear though and hit the bar from a corner before applying huge pressure on the Boro goal. The home side did take the lead when good work on the right started a move that Williams finished. And quickly after Fulham captain Cauley Woodrow made it 3-1 with a penalty.

Just before half time Boro had a chance to pull it back when Jimmy Warnett was fouled in the box, Warnett got up and took the kick himself but Oberschmidt was equal to it and Boro went in at the half 3-1 down.

Middlesbrough's job become a lot harder in the second half when Robbie Tinkler saw red after recieving his second yellow card. But instead of collapsing the 10 men rallied. Warnett hit the post then directly from a quickly taken free kick Jordan Jones curled the ball into the net, keeper stranded to make it 3-2. Come back on?

Boro continued to build the pressure and won another penalty, this time Jones stepped up and scored to bring the 10 men of Middlesbrough level! 3-3!

Middlesbrough were on the rise, Jones went through with only the keeper to beat but his shot was saved.

At the other end Luke Coddington was forced into an amazing point blank save to keep the scoreline level.

Boro Sub = Warnett off, McCarthy on.

As Fulham were building pressure on the 10 man vistors Boro nearly stole it at the end when Griffiths found Fewster with a cross but the Boro foward missed the target.

Full time 3-3.

Straight into extra time, and Fulham were straight onto the attack. They nearly took the lead when they struck the post, the Boro defensive line stood strong, in particular U16s Jonny Helm and Matty Elsdon who were playing against players 3 years older.

To cap off an amazing turn around Boro managed to take the lead when sub Scott McCarthy scored! 4-3 Boro.

In the second period of extra time Fulham really made the extra man tell, Boro had played nearly an hour one man down and its credit to those players on the field that they had come from 3-1 down to 4-3 up.

Again though after a scramble in the Boro Box Fulham drew level. Dembele with the final touch 4-4

Fulham added two more late in extra time through Woodrow and Tankovic to make the final score 6-4 to the home side. But the visitors should leave heads held high after a fantastic showing brought them from 2 down to 1 up.
