Will 2,958
Our club has been through much tougher patches than we are in at the moment and we are still standing. On the two European nights we were much further away from reaching our aim of the next round than we are in the championship at the moment yet, having been at both of those games every single fan in the riverside kept the faith, still believed and sang their hearts out. And look where that belief got us, we went to the final of the UEFA cup. It amazes me every time I think about it, our small town in the north east propelled a football team to the near impossible. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Dop_ZaLX7MA - Basel - steua Keep the faith and carry on believing, I know I still am. AnglianRed 6,229
Nice sentiments Will, but I don't think you can compare the two situations. Cup matches are often one-off affairs where anything can happen. During our UEFA cup run, we had a hell of a lot more quality in our squad and we were relative unknowns in Europe, so our opponents didn't know what to expect. Winning promotion is a marathon, not a sprint and relies on consistently producing the goods, week in, week out. Your opponents get to have a better look at you and try to combat your style of play. If we can get a result today and next week against Leeds, I'll believe our 4-match losing streak was a temporary blip. If we don't start turning it around very soon, we are going to find ourselves out of the promotion frame altogether and it will only get harder to get back in contention.
