Will 2,958
Would love an update if there is one from VB/DS, although I'd guess that there is no news yet.
Brunners 7,982
Saying you don't want him here or think less of him simply because of what he will be paid is just silly. As fans all we should be worried about is his performances on the pitch... 99% of people were over the moon with the thought he was coming here because they thought he could do a job for us, that shouldn't change simply because we now know what the club have offered him... All the recent deals the club have concluded fill me with enough confidence to know we will not pay more than we think he is worth. Im sure we will all forget how much he earns if he comes here and bangs goals in for fun... i know what you mean fans should be happy if he signs and bangs the goals in but look how long it took to get rid of players who were on to much money then we give 20k to a player who imo is not worth it by a long shot. The bolded bit is the important bit. Your opinion. Clearly, to the guys with the figures and who do the number crunching and who will have seen Ross play and know way more than me or you, they clearly think £20k a week is a totally reasonable figure. is this the same people who gave macdonald all that money then could not get rid of him Don't think so, actually, no. Tudders80 674
I Don't get the problem with the fee/wages. I go to watch us play football, not do the books!! If I was more capable than Gibbo and his team, I'd probably be running the club. It's amazing how a few snippets of 'old' info regarding him being offered a new contract by leeds (old as VB told us he was offered more than he was previously on, just not as much as we've offered) brings out all the negative fans immediately. I agree that the deal isnt done until the ink is dry, but some fans wont believe he is a boro player even if when he pulls on the shirt, and when they finally do accept it, they moan about wages/fees etc. The only numbers we should be concerned about, as fans, are the numbers on the players backs

Onme'eadson 44
The worst thing that's happened in the last 10yrs is the invention of Football Manager games, now every keyboard warrior thinks they know how to run a football club, transfers, financial etc. Just leave it to the professionals and see what happens...... He'd be the only link between the signings, and from what I can tell he takes a back seat and lets the others go for the players they want. Football manager in general has been around since the early 90s, back then it was Championship Manager.
