The cliché 'game of two halves' could have been made for this. Thought first half was a good game and gave me hope. We should have been further ahead but for Jukes shooting (twice??) and Emnes not being able to pull the trigger when he had done some great work.

They came out late after the break - leaving us waiting around and I can imagine Pearson giving them a raosting for being slow to the ball first half. Second half though Leicester came out with intent and could have had more - they took Woods off and put on Nugent - enough said in some respects.

I thought when Parnaby went off it would have been natural to put Varga there but that didn't seem to happen. Williams looked lost when he came on - no replay of the cameo against Burnley last year.

Some Positives:

Emnes looked good;

Williams looks better than last year;

Whitehead looks solid;

Showed we can actually play decent football.

Some Negatives:

Fell apart second half and made bad defensive errors;

No real plan B - after the first sub re Haroun we fell apart;

Carayol looked poor and ran into trouble - did not play to his strengths;

Not enough ball in box;

No real alternatives on the bench - our squad is too light.

Felt for Mogga - no one wants it more than him, he is Boro through and through. I saw Pearson shake all the Boro players hands as they went off at full time - maybe he is eyeing his chance of the job and managing a club where he will be popular. Think the fans should get off Moggas back for the moment - the game felt like a kick in the balls, but was not a disaster. We need a creative MF and a striker - Gibson should provide decent CB cover.

In years to come when my children say "daddy, what ever did happen to boro's promotion push in the 2012/13 season??"

Yesterdays game would provide the perfect metaphor...

"Well kids in the first half we looked in control and played good football, then in second half we fell apart"

Hopefully it won't be so for this season aswell!

I am one of the TM biggest Fan and yet I have constantly called for him to go.

However after some of the comments on here and the phone in on Tees, i'm astonished by the amount of people, who for whatever reason do not comment on any thread during the summer months then as soon as the game kicks off cannot wait to stick the knife in.

TM hasn't played only one game, and all this give him 10 games and see where we are going etc, he had an entire season last year and was plain to see we are heading in the wrong direction.

However i'm not going to call for TM head, mainly because it is early and I would like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, let see who he brings in and see if he has the mangerment skills required to see he made mistakes and has learnt from them this season.

Yesterday, was yet again another blip, apparently we haven't won the first game of the season in the league, so that's ok then?

You can have the best youth academy in the world, but at the end of the day you can dress a toddy up but you still have a toddy, the youth in my opinion is not good enough for this level yet, and I agree with TM. Why do people assume if you have the best academy your gonna get a messi? No your not, you will get the best of a bad lot,with maybe one or two shining stars,,,,,Downing etc.

So, i'm going to eat my words, swallow my pride and back TM to get it right, and not even question the hero that is Gibson...For me he is untouchable.

I couldn't believe how against playing any football we were in the second half. The number of times Steele kicked it up to Jutkiewicz was farcical. I know the Juke is a presence up front and has great strength but we never have and never will gain from playing a long ball game when we are in possession.

As for the second half we either got too comfortable or completely clueless. My guess would be a mixture of the two. Either way on Leicester's second half display they deserved the three points. All their players were on the same wavelength and some of their quick passing was excellent on the eye. Boro's slow laborious passing in the first half was replaced in the second by the long ball. And while neither is great I know which one I prefer!

Varga is a passing holding midfielder, and a very occasional left back. The only manager in the world who would even consider him on the wing just so happens to manage this particular club.

1. He should have played emnes right mid

2. Then he should of took everyone else off because emnes was in every position possible

3. Emnes should have scored in the first half

4. Varga should have played cm

5. Parnaby should of worn a pair of these http://m.iwantoneofthose.com/gift-other/tramp-it-jumping-shoes/10534004.html?utm_source=googleprod&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=gp_gifts&affil=thggpsad&&affil=thgppc&gclid=CIjYp6jd47gCFQ_LtAod7mEAaw

6. Woody should learn the walk instead of gliding on the floor

7. Juke needed someone upfront with him

8. The TVs in the south stand should of actually started working instead of been jumping back and fourth

9. Our defenders should of prevented their second goal

10. Mowbray should of spoke ... Didn't actually hear or see him do anything

After traveling for exhausting 12 hours, just getting home in time for an anual summerparty, the only thing that put a damper to my mood was boro. When i sat down on my final plane, we were winning. When i stepped out of the airplane, we had lost. Nothing new there. I expected a poor result against leicester, but still, the way we lost ourselves in the second half out the immensly frustrating second half of last season fresh back in memory. It was like te season never stopped.

Its going to take time to win the fans over again i reckon. A good start to me, would be actually playig a system that suited our players. Why do we play 442 when we only have one winger? Why play varga there? Why not in his actual position. With the players to our disposal, a 433 or 4231 is a given imo. I just dont get it why this obsession with playing 442? Does he plan playing Adomah on the right side of our midfield. A player known for not tracking back, helping out the defence. I can see him work in a 4231, but not 442. When you expect. A 352, why do you go for 442, if the plan is to react on your opposition, like he has claimed he will keep doing. These are imo basic errors that is so, so frustrating to see us do again and again.

It is just... Bad management.

After turning up yesterday full of hope and that we could turn our form around this season, I found myself leaving the stadium feeling the exact same way as I did the last. We were very poor, and yet Mowbray makes out as though we had bags of chances to seal the 3 points. I don't quite fully understand where he gets the tripe that leaves his mouth after another dismal display. We were gifted an OG and had a chance with emnes later in the half, but apart from that I don't remember seeing Schmeichel having to make a save. Carayol was woeful, marv was his usual poor self and juke did his best (holding the ball up) but it just wasn't enough. Defensively I don't think we were too bad, however Parnabys performance and positioning was well below par and Friend seemed limited to get forward down the wing. The final third needs improving drastically because I cant bare to watch any more of this 'keep ball', pass it around and get nowhere business. It's predictable every single time. A right winger is a must as I believe we need to utilise both flanks more often, aswell as a 2nd striker to help support and get into the box. Too many times we were slow to break, barely getting a man or two in an around the area anticipating a cross.

Watching the match yesterday I did detect that perhaps by having friend (who likes to bomb forward) and carayol (who doesnt like getting back to defend) on the same wing could cause a problem. But it seemed to me that Mowbray must have said to friend not to get forward as much as usual, which is a shame because friend is a good attacking defender.
