LukeR 44
If it is actually the 20th, we're going to have a lot of apologising to do :P
Boro Scot 75
If it is actually the 20th, we're going to have a lot of apologising to do :P ..or it could just be a coincidence. If he really knows the date then why not give a name?
richmfc 41
long term we have potential for a much bigger fan base, much better facilities and have a bigger history than palace but they are in london so that will swing it i bet Historically our fan base is very similar to palace. And their academy is pretty close to ours aswell Not sure why our history is a great deal better so along with the fact they are in london and their in the prem doesnt give us a lot of hope
"KM" 1,653
According to Anthony Vickers we've held initial talks with 4 or 5 managers and The club will now have detailed talks with the favourites. He's hinted that some of them may actually already be in a job or nearing the end of their contract.
p_mards 1,363
I can imagine Gibson, Bauser, Kenyon etc being impressed with Karl Robinson as he was the youngest person to acquire a Uefa Pro License and already has 3 years managerial experience despite him still being just 33. Roberto Di Matteo and Paul Ince(still sceptical on him) started off at MK Dons learning their trade there before moving onto bigger and better things so previous managers there have proven themselves to make the step up(especially Roberto Di Matteo). Maybe we could be deterred after our huge mistake of appointing Southgate but if Robinson worked under an experienced Director of Football then he could be a good choice as our Head Coach. jamesp 125
clearly got more chance of short term success at palace if he keeps them up but i still thing we have alot of potential long term if we can get promoted
London_born_Boro_bred 29
Echo saying Karanka is in talks with Palace and that we haven't held any talks with him about becoming manager, jut using him as a contact in Iberia. At this stage, there have been no discussions between the Spaniard and the Middlesbrough hierarchy relating to a possible managerial role, although Gibson refused to rule out the possibility of an overseas appointment when he dismissed Tony Mowbray last month. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/middlesbrough/read_article/10801078._/? Well the Gazette said last week that we've held preliminary discussions with him and NE are saying we've not spoken to him at all. Hmmm
