Just no pleasing some people

None of us know what's going on behind the scenes, even those who claim to be 'in the know'!

Keep calm and keep the faith!

Breaking news from SSN - The very lovely Kate Riley has confirmed that West Brom have bid for Norwich's Wes Hoolahan. Could be a clear sign that Dorrans will be leaving and Wes is the replacement. Come on Dorrans it's lovely in the North East, it's sunny today and 20+ Deg C today.

Starting to feel like it will be either no one or graham confirmed 10 minutes after the deadline. We've had the time to sign the targets after all the players went out on loan. What made them wait unless there are some secret signings imminent

We've had to wait, because we have been negotiating with Villa all day over Given. We cant sign anyone else, until we know how much we have in the wage budget. At some point Gibbo will have to cut and run, we'll still have Given until the end of Feb, this has become a major stumbling block. It would have been nice to have tied up Shay earlier, but Villa are playing hardball.

Let's also remember that there is always the emergency loan window as well. If for whatever reason we don't get players we want and it all falls through (plenty of it is out of our hands) then we can always take the time to make some shrewd emergency loan signings. Nothing would stop us taking on Wickham in that way assuming he goes nowhere else.

I do think we need a striker in but it's not the end of the World if it just doesn't happen and we have to wait for the emergency loan window to open.

On AV's blog update:

Meanwhile I am hearing whispers from the West Midlands that Graham Dorrans is not convinced about a move to Boro. People close to his camp suggest that after a few months on the fringe and a frustrating time battling back from a virus he was back in the team last week and is minded to see how it works out under new boss Pepe Mel. He can give it a shot and if it doesn't work he is out of contract in the summer.

That doesn't mean the mooted move is dead and I understand calls are still being exchanged but it does shift the odds away from Boro making that one work.

Half the premier league are in for "Hot Lips" Hoolahan.

Except that we only have 1 loan space available, if they all want a game.
