Apparently it was 1981-82 , The year of the toxteth riots, Passing of Bill Shankley, Bucks Fizz winning Eurovision, Aston Villa winning the European Cup, Debuts for John Barnes, Peter Davenport and Norman Whiteside. Ian Rush scores his first senior goal and also the year of that famous rant by a Norweigan commentator following thier 2-1 win over England. Everton signed a promising goalkeeper called Neville Southall . and Former QPR and England full back Dave Clement (i believe father of ex Derby boss Paul) comitted suicide after breaking his leg.
