I almost joined (as a player in 2005) but it wasn’t possible (paperwork issues on deadline day), but from that day I always had Middlesbrough on my mind. I always talked to players I knew who played here like Gaizka Mendieta, Geremi and Christian Karembeu. When I was at Real Madrid, I even played against Middlesbrough (in a friendly in 2000) and swapped my shirt with Christian. This quote I thought was super-interesting, was this widely known?
