MMC 1,000
Not sure if posted elsewhere but our former striker Jakupovic has joined Juventus on a loan until the end of the season with a view to buy. Hope we have a sell on clause. Seem to have screwed the pooch on that one. We are quoted as saying we had an offer for him which we considered more than he was worth so we took it. So a plus point for the recruitment team . Apparently juve offered to buy him before empoli but we quoted them 10million euros so they walked away. So you can only guess how much we got for him It was reported at the time we sold him for £1m Who knows what buy on fees we get or don’t but if you’ve got a young lad and get offered more than you think he’s worth then why not sell. He hasn’t made it at juve yet by any stretch he may never play so let’s not say weve ballsed up just yet We sold him for 1/6th of Rudy Gestede and 12 months later he's signed for the top club in Italy, probably top 5 in the world. So did Ronnie O’Brian some time ago. You could also say we sold him for ten times the amount we paid for Friend. Hundreds of youngsters sign for top clubs every year without making it. I’m with rich here. If we don’t see enough in a young lad then I’d rather sell instead of letting him go a bit later down the line. The academy needs to run. He hasn’t even made it at Empoli so that makes me think there is more to this transfer than what meets the eye.
Denzel Zanzibar 6,972
He's gone to Juve to play in their youth squad, it means nothing at this point.

Tom 2,492
Two years to the day since we lost Ali Brownlee. The commentary still doesn't feel right without him. RIP
mendieta420 1,008
Honestly, I can't stand the current commentary team. The main commentator sounds like hes having a panic attack for the entire 90 minutes.. and Maddo .. the best you can say about him is he's passionate.
Prowler 197
I mind Maddo's commentary to be rather lackadaisical...
wilsoncgp 9,283
I think they're both alright tbh. They do their best in the absence of the genius that Brownlee was. Ali's best partner on the radio was undoubtedly Bernie Slaven for me and Maddo isn't even half as daft as Slaven was sometimes.

mendieta420 1,008
Wasn't a fan of Slaven, he had players he really disliked then went after whenever we played bad. I remember him being all over players like Rochemback and Doriva, even Juninho till he started getting bite back from the fans. I liked Ali with Gill.

They both seem like nice guys but the main commentator in particular comes across as quite patronising sometimes. Main commentator Mark Drury's vocal intonation is constantly set to "hey, you should be surprised at this", even over the most mundane comments. It's really strange and annoying. Rob Law (guy on the touchline) sounds like a children's TV presenter. I think Maddo's alright like..! Though he doesn't always say what he's thinking in the phone-ins, like he's been briefed to go easy on the players/manager/club.
