A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

You undervalue us mate...

Agreed on this. I think right now would be the best time to invest in us. We have 6 months left of having a squad full of high earners and then suddenly most of that expenditure will be gone and we have the ability to start again. We have still got an incredible academy, a good sized stadium, a good capture area for fans who will come if the club has success again. Our staff are all on minimum wages so can be replaced with little fuss or cost. Were coming very very close to being a blank slate in the championship with a hell of a lot of potential. That's gotta be attractive for an investor.

Well said... if an investor comes in and gets us promoted and stable in the prem then the club becomes self sufficient it's that simple

This is what I always say. We are cheap to pick up yet have decent potential, there’s no reason why we can’t match Burnley/Brighton/Bournemouth/WBA with decent club management. Getting a club cheap and having them established as a lower premiership team or even a yo-yoing one would generate lots of money.

People will say why not just buy Newcastle, they are already up there and for sale. Well Ashley wants £350m, a buyer could buy us and put another £100m into the club to achieve promotion and still not spend half of that £350m.

The mistake people make when talking about ‘who would buy’ is they concentrate to much on reputation, location and for some reason crowd size. The reality is none of them have much to do with anything. Getting a good buyer in is more to do with connections and someone who can sell the project, you go to them rather than put a for sale sign up and sit waiting.

The title race was virtually over months ago, but 13 points clear now.

Traore is brilliant, always a bit depressing to see him smashing it though. If only Downing's free kick had went in rather than hit the crossbar.

I always think what could of been if only Traore stayed that one more season it could be him doing this for the Boro in the Premiership not for Wolves. But it was obvious he has to be the fastest player on the planet but now finally the penny has dropped and he has brought the final product to his game making him simply unstoppable. Just hope Boro have a sell on fee attached as he'll be going to a Man United, Man City or even Chelsea for crazy money very soon!

We might be 'easily' picked up and a cheaper prospect with a bigger potential gain but unless the person who takes over from Gibson is actually any good, it won't matter what they pay for us. Being cheaper opens us up to more prospective buyers across the quality spectrum and unfortunately, there are plenty of people out there with lots of money who'd be willing and yet who have no idea how to run a football club or what kind of people it takes to run them efficiently.
