I certainly can’t disagree with anything you’ve said there. If they can offer it to foreign supporters for 120 pounds then surely they can offer it to the domestic supporters too, but that’s probably because of domestic tv deals. Sky isn’t available here so they are not going to lose anything. If that’s the reason then I see no reason why international viewers shouldn’t get the “market price” and not the bloated price due to UK TV deals. It’s obviously still making the club money by offering it for 120 pounds (is my guess). But I can totally understand why domestic viewers are going to feel unfairly treated. I’m also guessing the club will quietly rather have people use Vpns rather than not buy anything.

Pretty sure it is. The £10 a game thing is an EFL mandated price, although I think some other clubs are working around it, I think Stoke are offering like a 10 game package or something, although I can't find where I saw that now (i know they're doing that for their season tickets too)

A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Not usually, no, whether I use spotify or buy an album, bands aren't making much either way. The vast majority of bands make the vast majority of their income through touring and merch, so I'll go to a gig or buy a shirt or two.

You must have very empty shelves.

It’s just simple economics, for at least the first part of the season the club is going to be reliant on revenue from season tickets and selling streams.

Why wouldn’t you want to pay for it?

If my favourite band releases a new album, I’ll make sure I buy it on vinyl, even though I could download it illegally. That’s because I want the band to enjoy success and to continue performing and writing.

I’m sorry if I came across as holier than thou, I just wanted to put my thoughts out there so that people might think about the implications of using a VPN before they bought an international pass. Please pay £10 for each match that you watch, it will help the club.

If you don’t want to, then that’s your prerogative, but £10 a match isn’t a massive amount really is it?

It was just a joke mate. I probably won't end up buying them, I can't justify the cost for what you get in return. However, it's just a choice, if you're happy paying full whack for it then you are free to, if someone else can find a way to pay less perfectly legally and chooses to then they are also free to.

Actually, I don't currently have ANY shelves. I had to take them down because they were actually bowing under the weight of how full they were. Mostly books.

Don't get me wrong, I do have a ridiculous amount of physical albums, but most of them are from before spotify really took off and I lived next door to a HMV.

Fair enough. I think the key word is “legally” is it illegal to buy a foreign pass if you live in the UK?

It will be against the club's policies, but it isn't illegal.

What if you were to give a foreign address?

I’m sure that when I lived in Spain I had to supply them with an address and post code to buy the games.

Not sure on that one. Last season it was just based on IP address, people used UK debit/credit cards for payment.

Yeah, I remember in the first season of iFollow when I had access to a free VPN that some sites would ensure you had a foreign address but I don't think it had to match your card sometimes, so I'd pick a random place in Norway or something. As it's not illegal to pay with pretty much any card from anywhere in the world, regardless of where you're based. In fact (though I'm not exactly 'savvy' in this territory), given exchange rates I suspect when you're paying for something that takes payment in GBP, even someone paying for a matchday pass is more likely to use a UK card if they have one, regardless of where they actually live?

Was that when you splashed out on a telly rather than go to the Boro games?

I can't remember entirely but I think you might be right. Still got that telly now, still going strong.

Ah yes I was pointing out that films looked and sounded better on a decent TV rather than a laptop. You berated me because a lot of people can’t afford a TV and watch things on their laptop.
later you mentioned that you had spent a fortune on a 4k TV even though you couldn’t afford it. It was all a bit comical at the time.

Yeah I used my UK credit card when I lived in Spain and it worked fine. Before anyone asks, I paid per game 😃
