A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

Great to see new boys there. Sol is just a legend and makes everyone feel welcome.

I could not see Fry or Bola in them pics. Hope they good.

I can imagine Bamba is helpful for JLS too because I think he's the only other native French speaker, is he not?

NW was asked about Sammy today and said they no further forward in determining length he out for.

I find it really hard in this day and age to accept the club dont know how long a player is likely to be out for given he had scan and been seen by a specialist.

The longer the lack of clarity goes on, the more suspicious I get about it.

There may be far more to it than simply an injury per se. It does seem to be a strange one and perhaps we should keep in mind that Ameobi may be going through his own personal hell right now. Should there be something more sinister I would imagine the club would be very protective with a veil of secrecy.

It's logical for us fans to think we have been duped and he is just a lazy so and so who needs a good kick up his backside but in fairness to Ameobi he doesn't seem that sort of individual.

Sorry i was not suggesting anything untoward on Sammy part. Just that it kight not be an injury per se. Could be a illness, a personal issue etc etc which club are not wanting to make public etc. Not suggesting he being lazy or faking injury etc

Yeah, could be a personal issue.  It could also be a failed drugs test I suppose.  I'm sure we've seen players out with unspecified injuries before who it turned out had failed a drugs test?  Having said that, Boro have gotten oddly secretive at times over the last couple of years with regards to various things so it could just be another example of that.  Although what benefit there would be from not saying Ameobi will be out for 6 months with a knee injury or whatever, is beyond me.

Siliki is more fluent in English than I expected so that's nice.

Shouldn't take as long to integrate in to the squad, which is good if he's being viewed as a long term player for us.

Saying that, maybe it was scripted judging from that post from him.

I was thinking of something which may be more challenging than that and from a personal perspective he may not want it publicised as he may currently have enough issues trying to get his own head around it. It seems very strange for an unspecified knee injury to be so vague after such a long period of time. My guess, being kind, is that they are possibly awaiting more tests, prognosis and possibly treatment to be able to give a definitive answer.

It was pretty clear that Fisher suffered a stupid and careless/freak accident, that was made clear from the off and that he would miss the season. Ameobi's absence could be of the Gestede variety but I suspect not.

Confirms that Scott was getting involved late in the window

That would imply he was in breach of his Norwich contract unless he received dispensation from them. I hope Warnock isn't failing to engage his brain before his mouth as it seemed pretty clear that Scott could only start after the window. Norwich may have declared zero interest in the targets and gave permission of sorts but even that would imply Scott was engaged with his new Employers before the contracted date.

Yeah I think I get what you're saying there, and I suppose that's a possibility as well, although the fact that he has missed all of pre-season would make that a bit less likely in my opinion?  Like he signed for us and then immediately had this to deal with?  It feels more football related to me just because of the timing of everything but with vague answers from the club it could be anything I guess.

Gibson is a stickler for the rules so we wouldn't break them.  We must have sorted it with Norwich.

I really can’t imagine Scott doing anything for us unless it was completely ok with Norwich. Gibson won’t even poach a manager under contract so there is no way he would ask Scott to work for us while under contract unless it was cleared with Norwich.
