Whitby is probably what Blackpool used to be like, before it got the amusement park, tower, big gaudy arcades and Christmas lights.

Never been to Whitby. Is it worth visiting?

A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

Amazing, I love it. It's just a lovely relatively local getaway. I can't wait to go back. Literally first holiday we're planning post-pandemic. Friend of family runs a B&B there so we've been a few times over the years to stay over.

My favourite place, it’s a must visit.

Last time we went, it was the cooooooooldest windy and eventually rainy day, we went up to the Abbey to see Dracula being retold by actors and actresses who had clearly done this act hundreds of times in all sorts of weather, using all sorts of improvised tools to keep their less firmly fitted clothing attached to them 😄 it was still an amazing experience.

I always liked it - even as a kid.

Best fish & chips I ever had. They also have waffle stalls (used to have bananas, cream and syrup on mine).

Even though it was always busy, it still had that quaint fishing town vibe...very picturesque. You can visit the abbey (if you don't mind the uphill walk) and learn everything you ever wanted to know about Dracula (apparently it was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel). You can also get boat rides that go a short way out of the harbour and back.

Blackpool's nice...more your drunken weekend kind of place. Whitby is better if you want a more relaxed getaway (not to mention closer).

It's the perfect place to go to forget you're a Boro fan for a while, too. 😅

Definitely an experience...  think there is a little more attention to Health and Safety since the well-publicised accident. Very lucky that copious amounts of beer were close by to put him out. Read somewhere that he was one of Bowie's inspirations, so in his own way, a bit of a pioneer
