Random snippet...  cousin's son is a drinking buddy of a Rangers scout that has been to the Riverside a few times in last couple of months. Monitoring "an experienced player"..  wouldn't be drawn on name but not known for wind ups..  so could someone else be a transfer target..  what fees would you consider for squad members , if we accept that everybody has a (sensible) price?

Tav would be the obvious link but I'd put my house on it being McNair, Celtic were sniffing round him previously (allegedly) but he's a big Ranger's fan. I doubt that Rangers could offer the sort of money that would tempt us.

There again it could perhaps be someone like Howson who is out of contract?

A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

Apart from Tav Sr,. is there anyone at Rangers that could tempt us to consider a deal? (Assuming that there might be substance to it). Would prefer to keep him tbh, as I can see him in Jonny's role if Wood makes the grade, Either way, need to make sure that if he is the target, we get a good deal

I would suspect Tav. McNair is a seasoned international and probably beyond the Ibrox wage structure, whereas Tav doesn't have the same profile. Plus, I know Rangers fans would love to have both Tavernier brothers in their team, so it'd be one of those populist signings that would excite the fanbase.

That'll be McNair

I suppose Tav is "established" now..  but not sure if he would rather be in same team as Bruv..  works sometimes but not always..  but few other fit bill..  suppose it depends on what they need too..  maybe time for Big Sol yet 🙂

McNair might possibly be beyond the Rangers wage structure but Tav is outside their price range entirely.

As it is, I'm not at all concerned that Rangers would take a player from us that we aren't keen on losing. It's the Prem teams and other top European sides that I'm expecting more of a fight with.

Our Tav is way over and above Rangers. It couldn’t be him

If they can't afford McNairs wages, they flat out can't afford Tavs fee.

Sounds like Paddy to me.  Difficult to put a price on Paddy. I think we'd struggle to replace him on the cheap. He's an important first team player. I can't imagine we'd be willing to let him go unless something stupid came in.

Howson? I believe he’s out of contract in the summer. Might want early retirement by going up there.

That is not a bad shout at all. You have to think we're going to try and look beyond him next season one way or another. He might get another year the way he's playing for us right now admittedly but I suspect the club will be looking for a long-term replacement this summer as well so he may have a decision to make.

Fry, Jones, Tav all linked with big money moves, soon they'll start with McNair, Dijksteel and Crooks.

If we don't go up this year, we're going to be picked apart like the Monaco side a few years ago.

Hmm do not recall Monaco being in our division mind you a nice away trip if you can afford it!
