A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

Lea Siliki shaves the post with a free kick in the last few seconds. Game over lost 3-2. Bueno and Culkin for Wolves look like really good prospects

Not been impressed by what I've seen from the first team bunch.

But the Champions League awaits now.

Really? I thought Lea Siliki was pretty pivotal in how the lads played from what I saw. He's all left foot so that heavily reduces what he can do but his set pieces were really threatening, he was always trying to pick a pass from deep and was always available for his teammates. He actually looked fit for a change, tonight.

Payero looked decent when we got him into the game but that didn't happen often enough second half. Shame he never scored his chance, couldn't have hit it much harder, a little under the bar and that's 2-1 to us and game could go very differently. Their second came at an awful time really.

Hall and Wood were okay, nowt to write home about though.

As for the rest of the team, I think we should consider the idea that Gibson might be able to solve the problem of having no alternative to Jones. And Bilongo looks like he could step up into the LCB role really nicely, I really like the look of him from what I've seen. Would like to see both really involved in preseason with the first team.

Agree with this assessment @wilsoncgp

Watched the last 60 minutes while working. My issue with Payero and Lea Siliki is that you would expect them to be of a higher standard than the rest of the players on the pitch but they weren't. If you didn't know them you would have thought they were just run of the mill U23s who may or may not make it. Payero mostly ran into trouble and lost the ball.

On the other hand, I thought Wood did well; the goals we conceded were more down to failings in midfield than defence. Hackney was poor. Apart from his goal, our strikers were hardly in the game though, oddly, when he came on, Walker looked a cut above. Looks to have gained a lot of bulk and not exactly mobile but knew his way to the goal.

Overall though we played a lot like the first team during its bad spell; overrun in midfield, no real connection between the different parts of the team, invisible strikers and no pattern of play when attacking. When you consider the number of players we had with a decent amount of senior football experience (Brynn, Wood, Hall, Payero, Lea Siliki, Hackney, Kavanagh) that is a bit worrying.

Supporters can buy a ticket to watch Boro’s final day fixture in the company of fellow fans at the Riverside.

Chris Wilder’s side head to Deepdale in a 12.30pm kick-off this Saturday looking to seize a play-off place in front of a sell-out away following from Teesside. Supporters must not travel to the match without a ticket.

The match has not been selected for live broadcast by Sky Sports, nor will it be shown on the Red Button service or to UK viewers via Matchday LIVE. This means that for those haven’t got a ticket, the Riverside is the only place to watch all the action unfold live.

We will be showing the game across the hospitality floor at the Riverside Stadium, and tickets are £10 per person including pie and peas which will be served prior to kick-off. Doors open at 11am and the event will close at 3pm.

Tickets for the beamback can only be purchased in person at the MFC Official retail store at the Riverside Stadium, and will be avaliable from 9am on Thursday 5 May. The store is open from 9am until 5pm on Thursday and Friday.
